Does anyone know if newer bader attachments fit on the original Bader bench 1? I just got one and it came with a 10 inch wheel but I want a flat platen and a small wheel attachment. Thanks everyone!!

Just moved this from mt&e, better section of bfc :)

No, the BM3 uses square tool arms that slide into the chassis, the older Baders use round receivers with a set screw.

Contact Bader. They may have a conversion arm that is round on one end and square on the other to take the B3 attachments.

Tomorrow I will look at my B1 arms and see if the B3 small wheel fork or flat platen will fit it. If not, Bader made them for the B1, and may still supply them. I might even have a spare old B1 flat platen and small wheel. You might find these on Ebay.

If not, you can get a steel B3 compatible tool arm cheap from one of the online suppliers (or Bader) and convert it one of two ways:
1) By shortening it the right amount, drilling out the end, and welding in a 3/4' hardened steel round rod that sticks out 2" (IIRC, B1 was 3/4"). You would want that done by someone with good shop skills and equipment.
2) By turning the end to a 3/4" round by 2" long tenon on the lathe to make a suitable length tool arm.

I recently got a BM-2 and I just spoke with them about the same thing. For this machine, all attachements are usable with the BM-2 Adapter Arm. From what I gather it's a square tube with round bar stock attached to it. It's $74.
