I have an original Becker MACHAX, and i was wondering if anyone could tell me some info about it, like metal used, and what it might be worth (if anything).

Thanx, RSRRhino

I forgot to add a description of my knife. It has no coating of any kind. It is stamped near the blade with "Becker MACHAX" on one side and "BK&T Cincinnati, USA" on the other. It cam with black handles scales, and a fabric sheath with a hard insert, that i believe is kydex. The sheath also has loops on the back that i believe are for either alice clips or extra ammo. The clip point of the blade is much different then the Camillus version, it is at less of an angle and it is sharpened on the backside. Once again thanks for any info anyone can give me.

I had one afew years back first time i tried it on a limb the blade chipped out quarter size chunks not out of the limb but out of the blade! I threw it away.

I have had mine for almost 12 years now and it has been going strong the whole time. I have had no problems with it, and the it only chipped once when i went through a sappling and hit a rock, but the chip was so small i used a stone and took it out.
