I'm currently lucky enough to have two bone handled Hiking Buddies. I know a lot of you are familiar with this original.

Unfortunately I'm also in the position that I need to sell a Fiddleback to buy a Fiddleback. I had to make a choice between the two. This original is now available. I asked for Andy's permission and I am letting the Fiddleback forum members have a shot at this instead of putting it on the exchange. I felt this one is too special and should stay here at home. This is still NEW and just as I received it from Andy.

I'm asking $240.00 paypal shipped - NO sheath - shipped US only please.

Please post "I'll take it" in this thread to have first opportunity to purchase.

I'm open to Fiddleback trades but I admit that I'll be a little picky. :D:D

Thanks Andy!

Wow! Wish I had the funds to spare. I didn't know there were any with bone handles.

Admittedly this is a really difficult one to let go! It has some history. This was Andy's first bone handled knife. I keep second guessing myself but I have so many other Fiddlebacks I'm interested in buying. I'm constantly tweaking my collection.

PM Sent to you Major D. Please let me know that you got it. Thank you very much!!

Trust me I know that feeling. Last year was especially difficult for me financially with my father's failing health and then his passing away. I went deep into debt to be able to stay out of town and hang out with him for his last three months, and I sold off a lot of the knives I had, keeping only ones that were important to me or to my work. Then immediately afterward, or maybe during and I didn't notice at first, Andy stepped up his game to levels I knew were coming but didn't know when. Now every time I turn around lately I am in a position where I am weighing how much I want one of his newer pieces of certain models with a tapered tang and full-height grinds, and if I want it bad enough to sell off knives I wasn't willing to part with before. My Bushfinger is one of my all time favorite knives, and I have even come close to offering it up for sale a couple of times lately. Luckily he has been mercifully not making any with bolsters lately. I don't know that I would be able to resist the temptation if he had been.

Nice score Philip!

It's yours Phil!! I replied to your PM. Congrats you will really like this one!

MistWalker I knew I wasn't alone in my emotional struggle. :D That's a compliment to Andy's work! I remember all the difficulties you had to go through. I hope everything is going well for you now. I also have a Hunter for sale in the exchange for this very reason. I'm trying to tweak my collection to fit my uses but the funds just aren't there without letting one go, however, I guess that's part of the fun of collecting and using our knives.

Thank God this is over!I actually considered doing without my BP meds for a month to grab this.

Congrats Philip!

Payment made using Paypal! Thanks so much!!! I don't remember ever being this excited about acquiring a knife! Andy's knives have the First Priority on my list of "must have knives" and to be able to acquire this one is really a dream come true!

Maybe I should make more with bone.....

Oh, you're not alone my friend. Every time I see a new batch I think well...I should grab one of these with the full grind and tapered tang because it is a stage in his career where he is upping his game and I'd really like to have a piece of that part of his history. I think to myself not a big deal to sell off just one of the older ones to grab one of these... But then the maddening process begins. I don't want to part with my Bushfinger because it was my first Fiddleback and is very sentimental...I don't want to part with the Hunter because it was the knife I used in my first publication in SRI. I'm not going to part with the Kephart because it was an unexpected gift that really caught me by surprise, and turned out to be my favorite handling Fiddleback so far. I can't part with the Hiking Buddy because it is no longer mine and I'm sure my wife would come up with some creative way to kill me if I did. I have a few other knives I could sell, that aren't quite as sentimental...but some it took me more than twenty years to get. So...I just focus on making more money :)
