Original boxes or display cases?

I have been collecting knives for a couple of years and have been keeping the knives in a safe in their original boxes. Recently, I have been researching wooden display cases with several drawers and a glass top to keep the knives in. I've seen some BF member's display cases and they are extremely impressive. Just wondering what most of you are doing? If you are using display cases, do you keep silica gel packs in the drawers and occasionally wipe your knives down to keep them lint/dust free and protected from rust? What do you use to wipe them down....silicone cloth?
