Original Cold Steel Trailmaster?

Hello, I recently got a cold steel trailmaster in SK5 (I think), however, I realized, just arrived that the finger groove was different from all the ones I had already seen. Can anyone tell me if the model is original and, roughly, what year is it?

1st generation model 16JS mid 1990s. Blade is Aus6.
I presume you mean "choil" instead of "finger groove"?
