Original K55 Mercator blade steel ?

Definetly carbon!
The Mercator knife exists for more than 100 years, so the first ones where made of carbon steel.
I don't remember exactly, but I think "Otter-Messer" uses actually a carbon steel from Bohler, I think it's with 0,75% of carbon.

nice slim knife with a lot of history!
