What is the oldest Busse you still own that you purchased directly from the shop. Mine is a ZTNOe circa 2001. User or Safe Queen, doesn't matter.ZTNOe.jpg

I ordered these when the Battle Mistress was the only knife offered in INFI. By the time they shipped a year later, the SHSH and SHBM were too.

My first was a Bird's Beak Steel Heart II in 1994, followed shortly by a first model Badger Attack. Both in A2 steel.

Is there a story why it says Zero Tolerance on it? does that relate to the term or the knife company, i dont know most of the history of Busse, let alone any stories you might have for engraving it on if you did? all i know is ZT started in 2006, so it probably wasnt related to the knife company. did it influence the name for ZT maybe?

Other side of ZTNOe. Jerry produced a ZT NO, SH and BM back in 2001. Spear Point, 3/16th think INFI with Zero Edge geometry. That is there's no edge bevel. For cutting performance this is the best performing edge you can get.

More ZT information in reply to Mo2's question:

I deleted this and will post in a new thread because I found much info and don't want to hijack this thread.

The oldest knife I purchased direct from Busse is a Satin Jack CG in 2002 – at that time your only choice for the SJ CG was black crinkle finish with black canvas micarta, and a 1/4" blade thickness (it was one of the standard models offered on their website). Later the SJ CG was available in 3/16" also. Here is a copy of the original webpage: https://web.archive.org/web/2002020...ent=35561855&action=serve&item=satinjack.html

The oldest Busse I own, but not purchased direct from Busse, is a Birds Beak Steel Heart II – this knife was made with A2 steel and came before the design known as the Straight Handle Steel Heart II that was originally available in A2 and later INFI.

The old models are still some of my favorites.
