Well Gang, I just ordered an original P-Mil. I like this design better. Actually, it wouldn't matter. I'll be glad to have a P-Mil again. Does anyone one else prefer the PM1?

I prefer some things about both knives. The Para One seemed a bit more blocky, whereas the Para Two seems a bit streamlined.

Plus I'm a curved clip fanatic. :)

I'll let you know when my P2 arrives. It's going to be a tough sell for me because, my orig Para has not found a permanent replacement in 3 years.

I don't know yet Rolf, and what happened to your spider avatar? You look so differant now:p

The original Para was great for me in the choil grip, but was the only way I could hold it in comfort.
I just got on the list for a CF Para 2, but may be to late. If not I'll let you know if I like it better if I get one.

I was lucky enough to receive a Para II last month, funny thing I still carry the Para I. Always liked it, always will, for me it seems smoother. As far as the lump on the end of the handle, I trimmed it down with a dremill, it's just like the II now. :p

Thanks guys. Always interesting to hear the feedback.
Kenny, my avatar is gone? I'll have to check!

i have the para 1. i bought it around the time the P2 was about to be released. its my most popular EDC at the moment. i have the satin PE digi camo version and couldnt be happier. i like how strong the clip is, although i like to carry my knives tip-up, the P1 design works well.

thats not to say that i wouldnt like to try out a P2 and see how i like it. anybody have one they would like to donate for a few weeks??? :D

I have several of the originals and never warmed up to the updates of the Para2. After I saw one up for sale with the STR low rider clip for a price that was hard to pass up on, I decided to give it a try. I really like it. The significant factor was that it carries lower in the pocket (practically invisible with the STR clip) and that you can move the clip to whatever side and end you wish. I'm eagerly awaiting Spyderco to make low rider clips for the original Para and the Military (Sal said he's giving it some thought). I don't carry any of them because of that. Until I get more of STR's low rider clips, the Para2 rides in my pocket for now.

Thanks Bim. No Gold no pic!
Thanks guys. I got an Endura, my first Spyderco, but I prefer the Para.
AND... Jeff, The Sun, tells me he can put Coyote Brown handle scales on for me.

I actually like both; I like the smoothness of the Para 1, and really like the handle/blade ratio. I much prefer the clip on the Para 1, and mine is the CPM D2 one, which is a top-performer. The Para 2, OTOH, feels more solid, has a more comfortable choil, fits my hand better (better ergo), and has just a little more edge. Each knives get their share of pocket time :D

Pic, for the fun of it:

The Para 2 isn't as smooth as the original:eek:? Can anyone confirm or comment on that? It might be an unfair comparison as you're judging by the CPM D2 sprint version, which is widely acknowledged to be ultra-smooth, much moreso than the plain Para.

Thanks for the replies. Both the P1 and P2 are fantastic knives!
KMN- Dang! I would have bought that PM from you! You still have it? :)

They have a different "walk and talk", because of the different method to retain the blade when the knife is closed (ball detent vs lock identation in the blade). So, just to be clear: For a ball detent knife, the Para2 is very smooth :D

I prefer the P2 myself. I have a SE P1 and a D2 also. I think that with the P2 getting so much pocket time lately I may just sell the D2.
