This may be in the wrong section, if so I expect to see than charming van shortly :)

Doesn't anyone have a copy of the original cold steel "Proof" video/dvd that they would allow me to borrow/buy? It is mostly for my entertainment. I would like to see the marketing progression from the begining.
I have consider making my own short clip cutting video for fun....this could be research of incredible value.

Thanks.

hmmm...use to have a few, but threw them away. The dvd is ridiculous garbage, and just gives cutlery, "in general" a bad name. Lynn is just "playing" into the hands of the anti-knife interests.

And he's not the only one. There are to many knife loving people that showcases
their 'defensive' slaughter ideas, IMO, giving the other knife people a bad name.

Is the consensus that the video is well.....crap and only good for laughs??
I viewed the 2006 version and I'm like you're kidding right?? Am I the only one?

Thanks for any input!

I have one of the VHS looped tapes, it lasts maybe two hours and well.....

It is copyrighted from 1996

A youtube parody would be very funny, put on a faux sumo suit and :)

Not a current "Proof" VHS/DVD, but I do have an original Cold Steel "Full Line" VHS. 12:05 seconds long, dated 9-1-1988. Dan Maragni goes through a series of Cold Steel products, and does a live "Proof" show. Pretty entertaining stuff. I believe this was Cold Steel's first introduction to video, and a very difficult item to find. Most don't know it even exists.

Heh heh heh.

I would love to borrow the older movies. I've never heard of the 1988 one, but the 1996 one must be the Orginal Proof.
It went Proof, More Proof, Solid Proof, correct?

Oh, and when it comes to ideas, I got some sweet ones! I;m a big guy already, so if I find a little padding and a really loud shirt/coat I'm golden.
This may become a winter project for a friend and myself. It has been an inside joke with us about the cutting tests for some time.
Note: While not knife makers we are both professional Cooks/Chefs, and I spent a few years as a meat cutter, and a short stint as a classic butcher. I use a knife professionally everyday.
You would be amazed what can be done with an eight inch Santuko knife.
Look out packing tubes!!!

He He He,

No the video only says
"Cold Steel PROOF"

I was thinking maybe the parody LT could cut the piece of meat then someone off camera asks him a question and the camera pans back to "LT" eating the newly cut hunk of meat or gnawing on one of those cow bones.....

"LT we're live, how many times do we have to tell you too eat BEFORE we shoot?"

It would look like day of the dead.....

Hey
Your idea sounds like fun. Blades bouncing back like a mallet off rubber, or sticking in the top of a watermelon, or ...... <ggg> <ggg> <ggg> stop it you're killing me <ggg>
I've got a set of 2 dvd from Cold Steel - "More Proof" copyright 2003 that I haven't even looked at yet. It was given to me by someone enthralled with Cold Steel. Be happy to share it with you but now I want to look at it just out of curiosity! Been sitting on my shelf ever since the Shot Show 03. You pay shipping either media or 1st class.
