Well, I have had this old school SPAX crash axe for a couple of years. Got it from a fellow who had 2 remaining and I should have purchased both of them. It is a real beast and they were used by rescue personnel to extricate folks from vehicles, etc. Has a very similar profile to the Ontario SPAX blades. I believe this was the original. Does anyone know anything about these? They were made here in the US and the handle is 10 inches long and all covered in black rubber. The head is 8 1/2 inches to the tip of the spike and it has 4 or 5 "teeth" at the top part of the blade. The amazing head is 3/8 to 1/2 inch thick! Heavy duty steel but I want to learn more about it. I'll post some pictures if I can figure out how to do it but I'm just trying to learn more about this amazing piece of edged artwork. Any help will be appreciated! :D
