Not sure if this the right area to post this question. Is the original Sharpmakers really worth what the prices I see them being listed for? I mean the older 90's ones that have the nylon velcro bags with them.... I have one and I also have an additional stone that is used for the serrations on the blades (not sure if its original) it came with the sharpener when I got it years ago... Thanks for any input.

How much are you seeing them go for? I have one from 1999-ish in the bag as you describe.

Why? I have an old one and a new one.....what's the difference ....besides the bag or case ...and two different angles for the new one?

there are a couple I have seen for around $150.00

Are they selling or just listed at that price? The older 203 just has the 40 degree setting. Also Spyderco has its own sub forum here.

I have an older one (came in a zip lock pouch) and a new one. I like the solid material that the older bases were made of and they did only have the 40 degree slots. The new one is fine with me also and is more versatile with the 30 degree slots other stone positions. Maybe the $150 is an attempt at implied collector value? Mike

Perhaps it´s the 203 Deluxe model , it came with diamond speed sleeves , thus adding to the price ?

1234,,,,:)

I have an old one like the one on the bay, but would prefer to have another 204 instead. CQI makes a big difference over the years.
