I had a couple of questions as to the ID of two Vics.

I recently bought what I thought was a second hand Explorer Plus off fleabay. I just realized that it may be an original Yeoman. It has the following implements:

Large blade
Bottle opener w/ wire stripper
Scissors
Phil head scredriver
Mag glass
Corkscrew with mini screwdriver
Parcel hook
Straight pin
Ball point pen
Tooth pick
Tweezers

It does not have a reamer as the current Explorer Plus models have. Is this the original Yeoman or an earlier variation of the Explorer?

The second model looks exactly like this:

The site says that the pic is incorrent for the name model, but mine looks exactly like this and has all the implements named

I called it a BSA Yeoman. But after looking at a few sites, I am beginning to wonder if it is a BSA Explorer Plus. Can anyone tell me whhat models I exactly have here? Any help is appreciated.

What the Boy Scouts of America call a "Yeoman" is actually an Explorer Plus. The BSA Yeoman used to be an actual Yeoman, and it was listed and pictured in the Boy Scout catalog as recently as June 2005, but, when I went into my local BSA store, hoping to buy a Yeoman, it was really the Explorer Plus, which is now called the BSA Yeoman.

Here's the thread I started back then: "New" source for buying SAKs

I hope these answer your questions.

geothorn,
The other link you started answered everything. I've got an original Yeoman without the BSA logo from what I read. and a BSA Yeoman (really Explorer Plus). The link was a big help. Thanks.

Congratulations on the original Victorinox Yeoman! That's what I was hoping to find, at my local BSA store! ;)

There are probably several folks around here who wouldn't mind helping you find a new home for that Yeoman! ;)

Within the past year, I have purchased a Victorinox Yoeman from a BSA store...they are proud of them at around $50 w/tax. But hey, it is the actual Yoeman and they had several of them at the time. I later found another Yoeman (non BSA) at a knife/gun show. The dealer had two of them but I only got one at the time...next gun show the other one was gone. It would be worth checking a local BSA shop just to see if they have some old inventory!

Over the last few years I've managed to find 4 original Yeomans. One of them actually has BSA on it. I also have the BSA Yeoman/ Explorer plus. There just something about a Yeoman.
