Over the years I have seen the term "corn knife" applied to a wide variety of large knives ranging from machetes, bill hooks, slashers and sickles, to a wide range of primitive amature-made knives. Other than defining this as a large generic knife which may have been associated with the manual harvesting of corn, what is the origins of this term and was there ever actually a specific type of knife which would have been marketed as a corn knife?
