Do any of you folks know where I can buy some Osage orange burl? I have been looking and looking for some.

John , I have some hunks that arent fully dry yet. They've been in my attic for a few months. I cut one in half a month ago and they were still wet.

The one I did cut wasn't actually all that impressive as far as the figure. Looked more like the cross section of a wart. You're welcome to a hunk though.

I have never seen burl from Osage Orange, but crotches get some nice grain patterns and contrasts.

I have friend that go back to Kansas a few times a year and I get them to raid relatives wood piles for knotty pieces.

the only osage orange burl I've seen was "burl" because of the knots. Not "burl" like maple/ironwood/redwood/etc.

Would love to see some though!

Id love to see a picture of what that looks like..Ive never seen osage burl

I keep trying to post a pic of a knife I made with osage orange burl, but it's not working. Sorry. I'll try again tomorrow.

That would be cool, Mark! I wonder what it will look like after the microwave treatment. I have been searching all over for some burl. The crotchwood is really great and easy to come by here by home, but no such critter such as burl. I would be glad to make it worth your time, too.
