I could hardly wait to get home today because I knew this one was probably waiting in the mailbox. To say I am impressed with this design is an understatement. Same goes for the sheath. Nicest one yet.

The handle feels great in hand, and the balance point of the knife is at the first brass pin. It fits my hand really well. The Osage handles are dense and smooth, and look amazing. I can't wait to see how they age with use. I definitely want more knives in this wood.
I love the blade shape. The textured flats on the blade provide a unique look, which I love. I predict they will also help with slicing and food prep by making the blade more non-stick. Kind of like the hammered finishes on some of the more pricy kitchen knives.
Just before John came up with this pattern, I was thinking about modding an Old Hickory butcher knife. I wanted to move the handle forward to make a shorter camp knife. No need for that now, as this design would be what I was looking for.
I'll post more in this thread as I use it, but my initial impression is that this one's a winner. Here's a couple more pics. One in hand , and another hanging out in my tomatoes.

If your curious about this pattern, I say get yourself one. I'm a happy camper.
