Here's a pretty thing I picked up at the Saint Louis show a couple weeks ago. The knife was handmade by Warren Osborne, and engraved by Simon Lytton. Unfortunately, I didn't have enough light to capture the fire in the presentation grade pearl. I traded another knife even up for this one; time will tell whether that was a wise decision or not. But, I'm still enjoying it for now.

This will be my new "church knife", for when I get all dressed up for fancy occasions. I plan to carry it for the first "official" time this weekend at my daughter's baptism.

edit- Bah. Didn't know there was a problem- Give me a minute and I'll try to find a different host site...

I think that should fix it. Lemme know if you still can't see them, and I'll just provide a link.

Perfect engraving for the period. I have two of Warren's myself and am looking for an engraver for one of them. Julie Warenski did not return my call.

And if you have ever met Simon in person, I know you'll appreciate that gorgeous engraving even more. Simon Lytton is an artist and a gentleman - and a real pleasure to talk to.

I googled and couldn't find anything.

Steve,

Simon is a wonderful man and a fantastic engraver. He has many styles up his sleeve, too. Are you aware he's from the UK?

I know he doesn't have email. (Well, as of a year ago he still didn't.) Your best bet is to catch him in a couple of weeks as he goes to the NYC show and stays with Howard Hitchmough in NH. Howard talks with him so often that a call or email to him might get things warmed up for you.

Good luck.

Well, onwards and upwards, there is no way I am shipping my Osborne to the UK, it was too hard to get, and would impossible to replace IF anything happened in transit.

I am open to suggestions as to a good engraver.

Simon tells me that there are flushing toilets indoors now in the UK so of course they have e-mail too. This very talented artist and absolute gentleman can be reached at simonlytt@freenetname.co.uk

Simon will be an exhibitor at the ECCKS in New York City next month, and while you are there stop by to see me at the Pen and the Sword table where you can see the bracelet Simon eengraved for my wife Karen and our spectacular collection of Osbornes which Simon would be more than happy to engrave.

Possum, that is a beautiful knife. No one does the English scroll like Simon.

Simon is truly a nice guy and a very good engraver. He's done at least 6 knives I've owned and I highly recommend him. Very cool that he's reached the technology age and has e-mail, thanks Steve.

are located in different places. Buster just told me how to reach her, and I called her, and she said that she would be happy to work on it.

Thanks Win and Coop,
