Some time ago I saw an ebay ad for a lanyard bracket that screws into the unused clip holes on an Osborne. Has anyone got info on where to find one of these? I've searched for the ad and never seen it offered since. They ran about $6.
Thanks,

Do you mean the holes that the clip would screw to? If that is what you saw I also would be interested. If not one of us just came up with a great idea!!!!!

Yeah, it screwed into the clip holes on the opposite side.

After I dropped my 940 in the woods on a vacation and luckily found it, I've been searching for a way to lanyard the darn thing. I'm still suprised I found it out in an open field with the deer.

This is from a sale post on another forum that I found when googling "Benchmade 940 lanyard".
It's apparently for a 942, which is what the seller is describing. The post is by "archieblue" who is also a member here, and will hopefully chime in:
"Last but not least is a "Frakenstein" Benchmade 940. This 940 sports a BLACK handle with a blue spacer and has an S30V blade. The typical offering is GREEN handle, PURPLE spacer, S30V blade. I'd say that the 940 is pretty much the ultimate EDC. Love Love Love this axis locker. I hate to let it go! This one has been carred more than the others, and does have a little smoothing of the finish, and a little scratch... the clip has VERY little paint missing. I have the box, but not the foam inside. I also have the little BM Baggie. I will also include a lanyard plate... Asking $95 shipped w/ confirmation, and also includes PayPal fees."

Either way, somebody got a good price on that discontinued 942. I'd like one myself!

edit: I left archieblue a visitor message in his profile, so hopefully he'll chime in here next time he's on the forum.

If anyone else has info about the if, who, where, and how much of a lanyard attachment for the 940 series, we'd appreciate hearing about it.

crap... I forgot to include it when I sold the knife! I t believe they are fairly common... perhaps found with different terminology... I thought it honestly stuck out too far and fuglied up an otherwise beautiful knife...

I'd still like to give one of these a try if anyone can point me in the right direction. I can't seem to find one.
Thanks,

I'm sure that Steve Rice (STR on the forums) could help you out. He does great work at a reasonable price.

I hate to raise up such an old thread, but... I really would like to get one of these brackets for my 940. I'm afraid I'm going to lose the thing in the woods.

Anyone know where I can get one of these? Links would be great. Is Steve Rice still around?

Or, maybe, could I drill a hole through the spring steel of the pocket clip that the 940 comes with? A single hole to thread a lanyard through and tie a knot in would work alright.

FYI Steve Rice goes by STR here and has his own subforum in the makers section. It wouldn't hurt to ask.

Take a regular Benchmade clip. Cut it off. Drill a hole in it. Smooth the edges of the hole. Round the corners. Flip it over. Attach it to the knife opposite the regular clip using the two outside screws. Insert lanyard. It ain't pretty, but the security will sooth your worried mind.
