I am bidding on a few Oso sweet knives now, and there is one for a buy it now price of $22 from a dealer I have had several good experiences with. How are these knives? I read this forum daily, but I don't remember a review of them....any one have one and like or dislike it? Thanks !

Well, it's a knife that was designed for the big box boys. It's a price point item.

Thanks...I have over 100 Kershaws now and wanted to get one to add to the collection. I have about 18 blurs, but I did not think I will be getting that many of these...lol

Any plans for sprint runs on these? I really like the blade and handle shape, but I am not a fan of nylon/frn handles or AUS6 steel.

well there is a certain someone who won my contest and still needs to write a review.......you know who you are.

SladeGT40, sorry for the delay in review but a couple of days after receiving the knife I came down with some pretty serious health issues and have been in and out of the hospital the last couple of weeks.

Just wanted to say thanks again for the OSO Sweet and give a quick review of the knife, although I still have only used it very little.

I am a fan of the FRN scales and wish they were used more often. They hold up very well from my experience and this one will be no different.

I did have the chance to use it to cut several lengths of RG-8 type coax in preperation for connectors and the blade held nicely for the first several cuts before needing to to touched up, but overall the steel did fine for steel in this price point. The shape of the blade is very useful and practical.

The speed safe action is super fast as expected.

I would recommend picking one as a daily use knife to eveyone, you will not be disappointed. This one has become my everyday go to knife.

Sorry that I cannot take pictures and that this review is short, I will try to give a better one when I get over these health issues and have time to use my OSO Sweet more.

Thanks to SladeGT40 for his generosity:cool: and again sorry for the short review.

Hopefully more to follow later...........................

sorry to hear about the health issues, hope you get better and stay that way. and its okay about the delay, im glad you like it. take your time and give us the low down on reliability and edge retention and the like when you are feeling better and have time.

CARman, hope you get better soon !! I just won one for $21 on Ebay so let see when I get it.....

Got it today. I am glad it was added to the collection, but it is very low end. The only thing that worries me about offering this level knife is that those who see it may judge all Kershaw knives by it. I was in Walmart getting some fishing tackle, and a fellow customer was about to by a Buck 110, when his friend said "don't buy a Buck they are all made in China now". I interrupted and explained that a few Bucks are but most are still high quailty knives made in the USA. I fear some one who buys this model may draw the same wrong conclusions about Kershaw. Either way, I am glad I got the one, but it will remain at one of these .....I have several Blurs, and others....

I picked up a Oso Sweet at Dick's Sporting Goods mainly just because it said Kershaw on it. But, truth be told, for the $20 or so I paid for it, it's actually a pretty solid little folder. No it's not the fanciest looking or the "hottest" steel, but it IS a great little knife for the price. I think it actually represents Kershaw fairly well when judged at it's price point. But, I agree with Tom19176 at the same time. Those who have not handled other Kershaw's before could judge the entire brand by the Oso Sweet and not take it for an appropiate knife for the $20 dollar range.

That being said, Anyone know if Kershaw has any plans to get any of the "higher-end" Kershaws into Wal-Mart stores? I think it would be great as it seems like Wal-Mart is everywhere and could expose new people to Kershaw who possibly haven't handled one of the nicer Kershaw's before. Plus, it would save me the 45 minutes trip to the knife shop to pick up a new Kershaw!! :D

While that would be a great thing, Wal-mart is too freakin cheap to have anything like that in stock. Just look at what they carry now. To them, it wouldnt make sense to carry anything "good" or "great", as they dont now. They wont carry anything better than a Blur.

I just checked on-line, and didn't see it listed. But the Kaper was...very interesting!

I checked on line also....Dick's has never had the cheapest prices on knives, so I was surprised to hear they had it for $20. I paid $21 on Ebay and that was after looking for one for three days.....

Blur, Leek, Storm, Scallion...I have SEVERAL of all of them and they are GREAT. The Oso sweet is a welcome part of my collection, however, they are the non knife nuts out there who may buy this model, get it as a gift, look at one their friend/co worker bought, and say "gee, this is what Kershaw makes now?" I assume that the price point of these indicates that many will be sold, and my fear is that more of them will be in people's hands than blurs, leeks, or storms, and the masses may form an opinion of Kershaw based on this model. That all said, I still did not see them at Dick's for $20 !!!!....lol

Dick's has them for $20?

I'm pretty sure it was Dick's although I could be wrong as it was at a mall in St. Louis that I don't go to very often(I hate malls!). I know it was around the $20-$25 dollar mark though, might've been on sale or something.

I don't expect Wal-Mart to carry Tyrades and Offsets I guess I should've said mid-range instead of higher-end, more like JYD, JYD 2, groove, Lahar, Leek, shallot.., more along those lines.

My local Wal-mart only carries 2 Kershaw's(I check just about everytime I go in there), they have the Vapor and the Storm 2's. I wish they carried Leek's, Blur's and Scallions., wonder why some do and some don't....
