The EDU lives in my work pants pocket. So out it came to cut the new pipe. This stuff is hard.

The EDU is a very capable little tool. If you don't have one, you need one.

That's cool. I was getting ready to order one from Chris as a work knife. But had some communication failure on my part and didn't budget for it so now I have to wait for a bit to build my knife budget up again. Doesn't help that my grail F2 was posted last Friday... Haha.

Ive also been flip flopping back and forth on which model of Chris's knives I want to get first. I like the EDU, I think it's a unique blade shape but I also really like the Warthog EDC. Which ever knife I get will go into a work role for me. Lots of random cutting tasks that come up at a tree nursery.

I would love to see some more pictures of EDUs! Maybe it'll help me make my decision.

I have the first EDU and helped Chris with the name. It is exactly as described. It's not really a outdoors type knife or one for Bushcrafting. It's just a great every day utility knife.

Thanks Phillip! I'd love to see yours. The role of whichever knife I order from Chris is definitely going to be a user at work. On my hip or in the pocket of my work pants M-F.

Chris has changed the blade profile... Mine is a one off
He thought it needed some tweaking

Nathan,
That was great little thread you posted up here about the EDU. I designed it for these exact intended Purposes.I use one I keep at the house for all kinds of odd and ends task were a larger knife would be less Ideal and more hazardous. Question, What do you find you like most about this particular blade and why?

It's the blade shape that I find useful. Kinda like a sheepsfoot or reverse tanto profile. The sharp point works great for scoring or cutting against a board (2x4, plywood, whatever I have around) and stripping electrical wire, etc

Also the blade height works well when I need to choke up on the blade, holding the knife along the spine.

Mine is 3/32 making it great for slicing things like styrofoam insulation or even flexible pvc pipe. The CPM154 takes and holds a great edge as well.

The one thing I think I'd like different would be the almost round profile of the handle. I think having a bit more height in the handle or thinning it down to give it a more oval shape would give a more secure grip

Overall I'm very pleased with this knife and I use it near everyday.

Nathan, thank you for your thoughtful reply on the EDU.
I understand what you're saying about the handle and agree I believe your EDU is one of the earlier ones that I made and I have made adjustments to thinning out the handle since then.
