Curious if anyone has experience with the osprey farpoint series of back packs. And what are your thoughts?

I have a talon 22 and love it. I'm looking for something slightly bigger. Primary purpose is that it will be catch all edc when either vacationing or at amusement parks. I have two young children, and this is something I need to use as a diaper bag, jacket storage, lunchbox, drink holder, as well as all of my typical edc stuff.

I like that it can be split into a 40L and 15L pack depending on my needs. Also like the 40L section fully opens, making finding things a breeze and making security at parks simpler. Love my talon 22 and it's perfect for my personal edc or for day hikes. Just too small to fit 3 jackets and snacks, drinks, first aid stuff and more.

Just loozing for opinions on this. Thanks.

Have a look at osprey exos comes In 3 sizes 38-48-58l super comfortable I have the 58l in a large harness this makes the pack overall size 62l.

The 55 is a pretty big pack, 55 seems like a big jump from 22 liters. The Farpoint 40 might be a good one to consider. The farpoints are cool because the suspension system has a cover that zips over it so you can check it in as baggage when you fly. They also have handles on each side and a shoulder strap to give you several carry options.

Another option if you're set on a big pack would be a Kelty Redwing 50. A certain website (rhymes with mamazon) has 35% off on it now, makes it just over $50. A steal if you ask me. The Redwind has a few more outside pockets that may make it more suitable for a diaper bag.

Neither the Farpoint 40 or the Redwing has a detachable day pack if that's a deal-breaker.

The kelty redwing is my second choice at the moment. I like the exos, but being able to open the whole pack is pretty appealing. I don't want to have to dig to the bottom for things.

I've about decided on a Farpoint 55 for myself. Totally different application from yours, i'd be using it mostly for travel... ...road trip type travel. I don't fly often but word is that the 55 will most likely pass for a carry on if not you can zip up the harness, detach the day pack, and check it.

Have you looked at the Eberlestock Halftrack? It's 35 liters, and a bit heavy, and pretty expensive, and may make you look like a murderer. Pretty nice pack though.
