I started my weekend Heat Treating W2. It had been awhile since the last time I attempeted Hamon. I have decided to dive back into it and I am pleased with the results. Peter (Prom52) stopped by that morning to chat and have lunch and he was able to snap a few pictures while I quenched.

Final Polish and etch. I have to completely finish the blade out before I glue the handle on.

Thanks for looking more as time permits...

Extraordinary workmanship.. Of course I've seen your finished work now a time or two.. To see how it's done is entirely another thing!

Awesome job on the hamon results Chris! I love your fearless approach to trying different techniques and materials. Your new batch of premium Koa looks spectacular in block form. I can only imagine how nice it will look on finished knives. A lot to look forward to in the pipeline.

Phil

What is the small knife in the pic of the the three that may be in the Thursday sale? Warthog?

Very cool to see the work in progress. Thanks for sharing!

After tracking down the various PM2s (and then selling most), I'd have to say S35VN is up near the top of my favorites. No experience with 3V yet but would look forward to the S35VN.

Looks like Osprey K&T is about to soar to new heights Chris. It was great fun watching you do the quenching on the two W2 blanks. To say there was just a touch of anticipation in the air would be an understatement. Congrats on producing a successful hamon !

BTW, I practically had to reach for the drool bucket when Chis brought out those Koa blocks.

So much good stuff here, I don't even know where to begin. The polished Hamon turned out great on both knives. The OD? With thick orange liners is shaping up to be a spectacular blade; such a great taper on that knife.

That is also an awesome selection of steel. That thick 80crv2 is going to make for a beastly knife. Looks like we might possibly see some more hamons in the future too. I mentioned some s35vn a few days ago, this is a nice surprise along with some 3V.

I like the walnut!! Thanks for showing us a few pics on how the process take place. cant wait to see what you have on Thursday

Sweet!! Love the hamon, they look great! Cant wait to see the finished project.

Thank you Daniel, I have been busy. The OD green one is the Recon and its a pretty awesome blade IMO. More Hamons indeed in the near future!

Thank you Peter, and I was glad you were there to witness how its done and photograph for me. I was pretty excited with how it turned out.

Thank you Phil, I enjoy trying new things and challanging myself. I do love my KOA

Awesome hamon lines!

Thanks man!

.094" 3V  Destroyer of belts.

We will see how tough it really is. LOL:D

The Koa looks awesome Chris! Lots of great stuff coming down the pike!;)

Hey Chris,

Feel free to throw pics up on Fotki any time. :-) (suspense to see the final product is killing me)

It might help garner even more interest esp if people are available and near their PCs during the work day. That, and it would give time to think up reasons for being unavailable at 9 EST. Speaking of 9 EST, is the time negotiable at all? I think Bud and Allen each asked for feedback at some point about posting times/options. Not trying to rock the boat but figured it couldn't hurt to ask.
