I have decided I will post My weekly sales thread on Thursdays at 9pm Eastern Standard time over on my Hosted Knifemakers Forum. The First one will be next Thursday July 14th. I will post a preview at 8:45 and will unlock the thread at 9. I will run it like Fiddleback Fridays and W.A. Surls Wednesday.

I am Open to suggestions on some names for the sales thread if anyone has and Ideas they would like to share as of right now I am going to call it Osprey Knife & Tool Thursday.

Thank you for everyone's words of encourgement and support. This group of people on this Forum right here have been a huge part of my journey. I wish I had time to thank each and everyone of you individually without you guy's this would not be possible. I look forward to seeing you guy's over there and am excited for this new chapter. I will remain active on the Fiddleback Forum and keep you guys up to date on Future OKT happenings

Congratulations on taking this bold step to break away and further establish your brand as an independent business. I have no doubt that you will do well with sales in that format.

As far as naming the thread, I recommend a boring but direct title like "Osprey K&T Sales Thread 07/14/16." My reasoning is twofold. First, you always want to keep the Osprey name at the forefront of your marketing and not confuse folks with other acronyms like "OKT." Second, by including "sales thread" in your title, you will attract the attention of the masses of BladeForums members and visitors who have no clue who you or your brand are. When people log-on and see the list of new posts since their last visit, they will see "sales thread" and hit "click" to find out what it is. Not everyone will of course, but enough to bring in new people every week to take a look and maybe buy. Your loyal fans here will already follow you. Think bigger in your marketing to draw in new folks.

That's my $.02 and probably worth about that much in wisdom value.

I look forward to next Thursday to see what you surprise us with in your inaugural sales thread.

Phil

Great advice Phil,
Just made the Change That is what it will be

This is awesome!! I'm at a bit of a disadvantage as I'm usually driving home at that time in California, but I'll figure it out. How many knives do you think you'll be unleashing each Thursday Chris?

And one bitchy question if I may...the only aspect of your knives that I'd alter are the lanyard holes. I don't dig 'em personally...not a deal breaker like jimping or thumb ramps, but wondering if you'd ever build a few without LHs?

Looking forward to it Chris!

Congrats Chris! Can't wait to see your first offerings.

Good stuff, Chris. Looking forward to the 14th.

Thanks for your support guy's

Great to hear Chris. Do you have a Fotki link that you could share?

Not much there yet. I will start a new folder for sales

Sorry about that VanDammet, I tried to take that into account and I knew anytime I picked would put someone at a disadvantage. I know there are a bunch of great people here that would gladly shark something for you.
I am going to start with around 3 or 4 a week see how it goes then adjust from there.

I only have one model I make regularly without the lanyard hole, the EDU. Although I have been getting some request to add one. I will probably end up doing both with and without a lanyard whole. I am not opposed to making any of my knives without it, if there is enough interest I would consider making a few without.

His EDU model doesn't have a lanyard hole!

Just made one with it, had a few request for that

It's cool that you offer both variations. I don't really use the lanyard holes and I also don't mind them so doesn't matter to me!

VanDammet,

I'm usually always available for sharking. Hit me up if you ever need some assistance. That's of course assuming I'm not looking to get the same knife. :D
