I've been using this pack as a kind of EDC bag for the last two weeks. So far I'm very impressed, first I'll go over the specs and features. Its a 2000 cu inch, 34liter pack. The shoulder straps are well built and nicely padded, it has a basic waist strap (not padded, but haven't felt the need to use them either) it also has a chest strap with a whistle built into the buckle which was surprisingly loud, I tried it out not expecting much, but it left my ears ringing.it has three section of rippled back padding one that covers each side of your back leaving your upper and mid spine vented. The third covers your lower back all the way across where most of the weight is when wearing the pack, overall very effective, comfortable and vented.
The main pocket is large, has two laptop/water bladder pockets sewn in, so you can actually carry both, or a laptop with papers. There's also a small netted MP3 pocket above the two larger pockets. On the other side towards the top of the pack there is another larger netted pocket with a zip closure. I keep random smaller things in there. The main pocket has a large zipper and unzips about 3/4 of the way down, I would prefer it unzipped farther down however. All the seems in the main compartment are double hemmed (instead of just sewing the seems together they do this then put another piece of material over it and sew that over the top of it.) It's large enough that I can keep extra shoes, socks, jeans, t-shirts, boxers, a hoodie, 6-8 cliff bars, a 15.4" laptop, and still have about 1/4 of the space available at the top.
There are two stretch water bottle pockets on each side that work well, I keep a FAK in one and a camel water bottle in the other. (I tried using a guyot design hiker at first but it seemed to not stay in because of the shape of the bottle, narrower at the bottom and bigger at the top) As well as a nice sized front stash pocket on the front. There are also to long deep zip pockets on the outside, about the size of 3 12oz cans stacked on top of each other, I keep a Scrapper 5 in one and assorted tools in the other, the zipper goes down enough that its easy to access all the stuff in the pockets. The organization pocket has two pen pockets and two larger netted pockets as well as a key lanyard. Overall its very well built. Great fit and finish, I also have an Osprey Manta 25 which is a great woods pack. Also Osprey is the only pack company (not counting the military style packs like kifaru and mystery ranch) that has a ESEE Cutlery style warranty.
It's a great overall size, and if you're looking for a EDC bag that fits in in the office or class, but is tough enough to be a BOB/GHB or use as a woods bag as well I'd definitely take a look at this pack.
