I like a sub hilt fighter. Most double edge sub hilt type daggers on the market are more expensive custom jobs. I like less costly easily replaceable off the shelf weapons as opposed to weapons that are more unique & expensive. I like to be able to replace the weapon in question in short order and have extras on hand (ie stock Glocks etc). Hence, I am interested some CS OSS/OSI knives. I also love that they have a nice trainer for it. Also, I like that is is light enough for every day carry, or duty carry, or whatever and small enough to conceal in certain ways if I want to.

But before I get in too deep in terms of training etc, do you really think the OSS/OSI is tough enough. Particularly the tip. Currently, the knife is offered in AUS 8A. I can't find any hard use tests/reviews on it.

I like double edged, but not fully double edged. I like a dull area near the hilt for placing your off hand to reinforce cuts when fighting nose to nose. I could either grind off part of the OSS back edge or I could get and OSI and grind a sharpened false edge. (Think like the Keating Crossada or the Hammond Flesheater or Entrek SILHOUETTE)
-Starting w/ the OSS would be simpler, but blunt edge would be pretty narrow and hard on your support hand. Probably not that big of a deal as I don't expect to be doing too many of these in a day... If I drop the top edge a little more than 1/8", the spine would be about
-Starting w/ the OSI would give a broader spine to press against but it would be a little tricky to grind the false edge and it seems like it might leave the tip weaker than the tip of an OSS b/c the bottom grind of the OSS is more obtuse I believe.

Are there any other production type light weight dagger'ish w/ partially sharpened 8" blade knivesand some form of a sub hilt behind the index and/or pinky finger?

What about he Boar Hunter as a fighting knife? Do you think the tip would go astray in penetration w/ its strange shape?
