I know this is off topic, but this was a deal between two Busse Collectors. And with all the bad crap that has been floating around here, I thought a little GOOD NEWS would be in order..

I recently did a little horse trading with VTW.. This is what I got today from the man in Brown..

Knowing who it was from, it only seemed right to open it with INFI!!

Valley Tin Works.. WOW! I was truly NOT prepared for what I found inside. Perfect.. VTW, you are an absolute artist.

VTW: I read the back.. Dude, if there is ever ANYTHING I can do for you, I am your boy!

THANK YOU MIKE.....

let me explain why i love trading my stuff.....

i sell stuff everyday to extremely wealthy people.... wich is fine.... but money means very little to them, and by proxy to me.

when a person trades me something that they obviously love as well it makes me proud to know that they feel my art or work is equal.

trade also is a great way to connect on levels you dont find in a standard economy, not to mention it is how artisians have survived for the past how many ever thousands of years.

so having said that. Mike it was a pleasure, look foward to getting your box as well.

Bartering is always good. I got a piece of gum that has awesome meaning to me. Whatcha got? :D

Seriously though, that is awesome. Both the appreciate of another man's passion (work) and the great quality each received.

Thanks for posting as I enjoy your work, and all the better if it has busse content :D Tin Knocker... that is flugin' hilarious

I have some spare bellybutton lint. What can I get for that? ;)

Cool work, VTN.

I miss custom finishing...I always liked when we got to do light gold and coper toned highlighting.... (our finishes were limited to what was reasonable given the chandelier would be 30 feet up in the air). The chandelier in the pictures was a "you want this one? fine. It's your baby now. I want nothing to do with it." project from my superisor... I think it was because our sales manager was adding things as it was being finished, wich shawn hated...

Your natural black finish over flat surfaces is stunning!

LVC, all of my finishes are paint, not actually metal...... tin is a bright 'silver' if you look there are golds etc in mine, and i dont 'rub' anything off..... now start your guessing...... lol

its so low tech people are often shocked even some of the most famous decorative painters guess wrong...lol

Can I guess?? It might be cheating though.. I can look and fondle my piece all I need to until I figure it out!

EDIT: I am, of course talking about the ART PIECE!!

Makes the hair stand up on the back of my wrinkly neck. But in a good way.

I think VTW is slowly turning me into an 'art afficianado.' My spousal unit would be astounded...let alone my two very artistic daughters.

now that looks cool!

is it a "battle shield" ? i'd like a round one with me family crest on the face of it

can you do a bottle of JWB on one? ;)

Valleytinworks, I just visited your site. That work is amazing. I would love to see how it is done, being a fine artist myself. Awesome stuff. What a cool idea. I can't imagine how much some of those ceilings would cost and rightfully so. If I ever make enough money and have a home that would suit it, I would love a ceiling done by you. Wow.

Thats an awsome piece of art right there! Very nice to see trading, and VTW, your points on trading over buying / selling are indeed valid

:)

Nice work VTW!! I am not sure what patterns if any you are limited to. But is it possible there is any chance you could form one around (from a busse) aka a Busse patterned one, that would be super sweet!
