There's a lot to be said for one of Rusty's canes, or short mag lite, or kubokan, or screwdriver*, or heavy magic marker, or plastic tent stake...at least in terms of legality.

*Might help to make sure you have a screw loose in your car. :)

Umm, how about the CCW card, for life's little emergencies? Don't leave home without it!

Streamlitght makes a led flash light the batonlight that is the right size for a kubaton and you can put your keys on it, ASP (the baton people) make a kubaton sized item that has replaceable containers of pepper spray with a safety switch that look pretty inconspicious.

I have a 6" kubotan attached to my keyring. No one including police officers has ever said anything about it.

Ah, Rusty, Rusty, Rusty....

not ALL of us live in states which allow such rash behavior. :p

I think I'd like to be able to carry a concealed handgun, but doubt that I would ever really carry one. The only place I've ever been concerned is in some Chicago neighborhoods, and Chicago no longer allows anyone to OWN a handgun. I had a FOID, and two handguns registered, but after moving out of the city, I can't move back INTO it with the handguns. Dunno about the long guns.

Wonder how vastly the registration of guns and the prohibition of new guns has lowered the Chicago crime rate? Probably no crime there anymore, ya think?

I suppose you aren't allowed to lease a handgun either hunh? :p ;)

They may Not allow anyone to OWN a handgun but how are they gonna know unless you tell them?

Sure you can. You just can't move back into the city legally with them, see above.

The long guns are a little harder too conceal when moving but you're an inventive man. Again see first sentence.

Uh, what's a FOID?

Driving across some states I'm very careful to obey all their traffic laws just too be better safe than sorry and probably not stopped for suspicion, of anything.
It'll be easier now with my hair cut short.;)
Some states like Massachusets I would be real antsy about crossing with my guns seeing as how they are there.
And yet I have yet too be stopped and be asked too search my vehicle.
Good thing too because it would've been hard to explain a few things I've stopped and picked up along the road, but I don't do that anymore.:D
