OT: Anybody watch Dual Survivor?

Id have to imagine some of us do. What are your thoughts on Matt and Joe as a team? Personally I am a huge fan, they work well together, and Matt is very impressive with his knowledge and demeanor.
 
I liked it better when it was with Cody.

It really played better when it was the two "schools" clashing against each other. SERE-style survivalism vs. Bushcraft spiritualism.


My FAVORITE outdoors/survival/bushcraft show is the Ray Mears series....really anything he does. His 6 part series on the Boreal forest in Canada was incredible.
 
My wife, son and I are avid watchers of the series. Although I'm getting tired of the forced drama.

Cody was my favorite. I really like Matt too. Dave wasn't too bad. But Joe really gets on my nerves. From the sounds of it they'll probably be needing to find another military type guy to team up with Matt though, since Joe's credentials are now in question.

Really? Joe is in question now?? I haven't heard this. Very disappointing if true. Im tired of people falsifying there experience, especially the military guys!

I like the dichotomy of military vs hunter/ gatherer. As much as I want to be in more of the hunter/ gatherer camp, I would probably adopt more of Joe's philosophies. That's probably why I am so intrigued with Matt. Cody was cool, but I think I would rather be in a situation with Matt, he seems to be a better communicator, IMO. He doesn't let things escalate.
 
I'm a fan. love matt graham.

if you like dual survival, dude youre screwed is even better imo...

Watching homeboy make a hatchet out of a golf club was one of the most ridiculous and awesome things i've ever seen on these types of shows.


FYI Nothing beats Survivorman reruns IMO :)
 
I watch Dual Survival. The series has its ups and downs.

My personal favorite is "Alone in the Wilderness" with Dick Proenneke.
The first time I saw it, one weekend flipping through channels, stopped on PBS and there it was.
Very interesting man, a great story, and some of the stuff he does is pretty sweet.
 
Cool show for what it's worth. Matt would be a lot easier to survive with than Cody. Cody's wise in his ways, but he's a bit of an egotistical drama queen that resorts to patronizing when you don't do things his way. It's like really man? We're just trying to survive out here....
 
I am eagerly waiting for the day that someone on one of these survival shows pulls out a Fiddleback and goes to work!
 
Cody's no shoes drove me crazy. i get his logic in that people all over the world dont have shoes and survive, our ancestors didnt have shoes... blah blah. We evolved, shoes were probably one of man's earliest inventions along with fire, the wheel, hooch, and the NFL. Oh and Kate Upton. We had to invent her fast.

anyways... shoes man. wear some friggin shoes
 
Dick Proenneke was the man. If you liked that documentary you should read his book.
Great stories, some funny, some heartbreaking.
Love Matt. Cody is a silly man.
 
I'm a causal watcher. Matt Graham seems like an easy going guy and very knowledgeable so he saves the show me. Even though I don't appreciate Joe's attitude most of the time, I think he's been unfairly attacked. Overall it's an easy watch.

Absolutely loved that documentary! I'll have to check out his book.


I'm a big fan of any of the Survival shows, however, I watch them all for entertainment only and don't take them too seriously. I've enjoyed each character on Dual Survival for various reasons. Again taking most of the antics with a grain of salt.
 
I think the guy i find most enjoyable is Jake from Dude youre screwed. He's not as hardcore military as say Joe, and seems more willing to learn things from the other guys. Plus he's a riot always trying to screw the other guys from finishing in time.

Like when he gave Terry a dog he had to survive with.
 
Matt is pretty cool, anybody who can catch a wild turkey with his bare hands is a bad ass in my book
