So we have this pen up the road where we keep our 2 bucks.

When I built it I built it with mega overhangs and on the back there is space to store like 3 bales of hay and a trash can full of grain.

Well something keeps getting the lid off and eating the grain. We guess it's coons but whatever it is it must be a whole tribe of them cause they are putting a SERIOUS dent in a 100 lb sack in 1 week! They also seem to be able to get the rock off the lid.

Guess I am gonna have to rig up some way to bungee the lid down or something. I DO notic tons of "little hand prints" in the sand all along the creek bank between the house and buck pen.

The lid may come off and then the squirrels and Birds and everybody takes a turn. Rodents will carry food off to their nests, preparing for hunger later in the season or to feed their young.

Those little handprints are a sure sign of coons. They're smart enough to get that rock off easy. We have to put a wire mesh criitter guard around the bottom of our deer feeders because the coons will climb one of the tripod legs and then stretch out and move the metal spinner around so they can get the corn. A 220 Conibear trap will solve your problems quickly.

I got a friend that used to run a trap line for quite a few years. I'll have to ask her about borrowing one of her traps.

Try the 220 trap using a 5 gallon bucket set. Just put the bait (fried chicken skin and bones works great) in the back of the bucket with the trap set in front. Stake the trap to keep from losing the coon and the trap. Works very well for me.
