Saw this last night with my wife. Very entertaining. Plenty of fighting and blade action. I'm curious to see what Danny has to say about the ninja elements of the film.

Dunno about its technical accuracy from that standpoint (although, I have to point out that a giant microwave accelerator that could vaporize that much water would also vaporize every 85%-water human in the city ;)) but I greatly enjoyed this movie. It's not so much something we haven't seen before, but it was done in a fairly original way. I appreciated that Bruce Wayne gets more and more bruised and bloodied as his alter-ego goes out and has adventures. :)

I actually saw this film on Wednesday when it opened. I have to say that it really is the best batman movie of the bunch. I really liked the fact that the villians were not over the top or comicbookish. Improbable, but believable. I too want to know what Danny thinks about the ninja element. My only gripe is that most of the fights were way too up close and full of shakey-cam action. I know it was done to show the brutal fighting style batman has, but it got pretty old seeing: bad guy, bad guy, cape. bad guy, bad guy, bat ear. bad guy, bad guy, gauntlet. I wanted to see the dark knight beat the bejeezus out of some people:D Other than that, great movie. Steely gives it 3 out 4 khuks.

as a huge batman fan, i am absolutely pleased with this interpretation. it's the way batman should have been done with regards to the dark mantra.

i believe that this is the best batman to date. i hope they do a remake with the Joker and hopefully, not "sell out" to the kid marketing franchaise. And thank God they didn't simply kill off the scarecrow.

i know that the fight scenes were something to complain about but as a man who has a tremendous dislike for flying monkey's and crouching grasshoppers, i say, thanks for focussing more on the story and the psyche.

The last batman flicks were an utter disgrace to the franchaise.

I wish I could see it. I think it will open in japan in mid-july.
I always have to wait so see movies...
Tell me more about a giant microwave accelerator...

It has spinny things and flashy things, you know, like all good technology. :D

John

Have not seen Batman Begins yet, but really liked Christian Bale in "American Psycho." He DOES play 'a great "troubled" character.'

From Bateman to Batman?

nice one, Bill.

Guys - I'm headed out to see this one in an hour - glad to see it well-reviewed!
(I'd still go see it anyway.....:footinmou)

what can I say....?!?

Dark, morose, disturbing....maybe I'm get more sensitive to these things with age....There was a lady down on the 5th row with her three small children (under 5)......:(......there were definitely some nightmarish scenes in there....feel sorry for the kids (unless they're used to this stuff).

I did enjoy it, though. Fascinating and well-filmed.

I just need to think positive thoughts for a little while now.....

Loved Batman Begins, wrote a review in Community.

In regards to kids in the audience, when I saw Matrix Revolutions, there were kids in the aisle in front of me. I mean 4 and 5 year olds (or so I thought). Basically, old enough to have hellish night terrors from the movie, not old enough to understand what was going on in the movie.

I couldn't believe some ignoramus had 3 little kids with him when we went to see Gladiator (An S & M soft-core porno flick, IMO). What do these people think they're doing to their kids? Or do the even care?

That's nothing fellas. My buddy and I went to see the new Texas Chainsaw movie when it was in the theaters. A guy brought his 3 year old daughter to see it. THREE YEAR OLD DAUGHTER. She cried through the whole thing. i mean bawled. When the movie was over and we were filing out a 20-something lady asked this father-of-the-year how he could bring his daughter to see such a horrific movie. He suggested that she mind her own *&^%* business and let him raise his child the way he's going to raise her.
