Does anyone know of a site that has detailed information about assembly/disassembly of the venerable Browning Hi Power M-35 pistol? Actually, I found disassembly instructions and got it apart just fine  Now, about that hammer strut :mad:There must be a trick I'm missing here... :grumpy:

No trick...just the reverse of what you did. It's like a 1911 except for the mainspring housing.

.

When I have a hard time getting a firearm back together, I tend to either throw the pieces around the room while cursing, or I start whaling on the stubborn section with the nearest heavy blunt object. (While cursing.)

Of course, these aren't my firearms that we're talking about here.

My method doesn't usually work but defeat never felt so satisfying.

Thanks all.:o I have a mental condition that prevents clear thinking whenever I see "...reassemble in reverse order." Looked at it again today and it all went together fine. Didn't need the ball-pein hammer, even. :D

I am considering giving you red chicklets for not taking advantage of the problem to use your ball-peen hammer.

;) :p

I deserve it. Shoulda whacked that sucker hard! That usually makes precision mechanisms sit up and take notice. :D
Then soak 'em down with Balistol.
Hey, I learn quick.

the ultimate test is when you fire it, if little pieces fly all over, you know you made a boo-boo.

p.s. - had a BHP i carried with me in the service, spent most of it's career in the ships armory, but i did get to carry it officially on some missions, it always did it's job, the bullets always went where i pointed it & like a spaghetti western revolver, it never ran out of bullets. got sold when i moved over seas, if it's got a squared & grooved trigger guard it might have been mine once...
