I had no idea you could get that kind of sound from a ukelele. That was beautiful, it gave me chill bumps. Wonder why it was on collegehumor website?

lol. I am good at the understatement thing. I once saw a Russian folk music group that was managed by my girlfriend's mother play a show. They guy on the domra played with asimilar style to the fellow in the link above. In truth, it amazes and humbles me.

We had a few islanders on my last ship that played the ukelele. They were pretty good but that wasn't their style. ;)

I like that song. Until now, I'd thought that the acoustic guitar rendition was the best. I think I like that ukelele version a bit better.
 
WOW.The Jimi Hendrix of the ukelele.I do know Jimmy Vaughan,teacher and brother of the late,beyond great Stevie Ray Vaughan,uses ukelele strings on his Strat.The higher strings,on certain songs. Superb thread.Added it to my Bookmarks Bar.Thanks.

Very impressive.. I play guitar and have toyed with those but my finger are a bit too big
