Take a mason jar and fill it up with golf balls...It is full,Right?
Add two cups of dried peas..... Its full now, right?
Add a cup of sand....It's really full now...Right?
Add a can of beer....When the foam settles down,it will finally be full.

The jar is your life.
The golf balls represent the big things in your life.Family,friends,health.
The peas are the other important things...Jobs,cars,houses,knives.
The sand is the small stuff that seems to take all our time.....
If you put it in the jar first, there wouldn't be room for the golf balls and the BBs.
Take care of the golf balls first - Take your spouse/lover to dinner...play with the kids...get that check up you have been to busy to go for....Go see your Dad and Mom while you still can.
Let the small stuff wait,it will always be there.

The can of beer? It is to show that in life there is always room for two friends to sit down and share a beer.

I just turned 52. 3 years ago the doctors told me that I had 2 years to live. I'm still ticking. I know sooner or later this cancer will catch up to me but I try to ignore that. Right know I'm making knives, enjoying life and enjoying my wife and friends. Bladsmth is right on. I Always try to remember what's important and I always let the important people in my life know what they mean to me. Cheers.

stacy
I heard that one before
but thanks for the reminder
it's needed from time to time.
the song , we only have 100 years years to live, is only wishfull thinking for the most of us..

dang
diggerdog... I'm 52 also and you're situation is sad I'm sorry to hear of
that and wish you the best.
..it's sad that it takes these things to wake us up..
the saying 20:20 is hindsight,
should mean more to those of us
that have lesser problems..it sure makes me think about it more..:(

Thanks....too much sand and peas in my life these days.....

Last week I started having very odd chest pain that radiated down my left arm. I am young, somewhat fit, and it still scared the hell out of me. Took a whole round of doctor checks to convince me I wasnt having a heart attack. Even something as minor as a scare puts things in perspective in lightning speed. I know sometimes I need to keep that perspective more so this was a close to heart post for me!
