Some of you know that I have been caring for my 82 year old Aunt for the last six months (actually for the last several years). She has emergency surgery in December. It has been a long and draining struggle on both of us. She passed away this afternoon.Had a good life and was ready to go.
I haven't finished but a few projects or knives since then.I will now get those done for a few of you who are waiting, and get the new forge under way.I have fiddled in the forge shop at night just to unwind.I was trying to finish the Christmas orders las December and nearly took my hand off,so I have avoided anything but simple playing around. The hand is healed (mostly),the pile of blanks is stacked up,and I will have time to work.Life moves on.It will feel good to get back into the swing (pun intended) of things.
Thanks for you guys and BF for giving me a place to relax and chat for the last months. It probably kept me sane.
Stacy

Sorry to hear of your loss, Stacy. God Bless you for being her caregiver. May she Rest in Peace.

My condolences to you and yours.

Got the same situation with my mother since October, it's nice to have something to divert your attention from lifes problems.

I'm also sorry for your loss Stacy.

A big pat on the back for being a good enough person to care for her. My wife and I are in a similar situation with her step mother now.

After this past year of seeing people I love and a few I don't care much for but hate to see anyone suffer, I hope I go quickly and am not a burden on anyone.

Glad you are back in the game now.
Don

Sorry to hear that friend. She is in a better place and will always live on in what you learned from her :)

Sorry for your loss. "and will always live on in what you learned from her" Well said. I've never heard it put that way before.

Stacy sorry to hear this but as you say, if she was ready to go then she's had enough I just wish I'm let go when it's time..and go fast..

it's strange, (I won't say it's funny...)
as a kid we or many of us have tempted fait many times
as we get older we cherish life and hang on for dear life
and as we get older some of us know went it's time, it time..
it's the ones we leave behind that hurts the most..not the one passing..

may she RIP and be usured she will have the chance now for the new life waiting for her.

I'll stop at that... My condolences to you and the Family

You have my condolences Stacey. You are a kind person for taking her in like that. I hope my family keeps me home when i'm unable to care for myself.Have fun getting back into the "swing" of it.

The things we do for duty, honor and love are the most challenging and yet the most rewarding. Well done. Fred
