Absolutely cracks me up but no-one here has heard of it.

Humor is like hypnosis. You can say things you wouldn't otherwise dare and still plant the thought. That's why my avatar used to be the Court Jester.

You are getting old. I work at a local university in the mail room and we have some student workers. There is only about a dozen years difference in our ages but I get to talking about movies or music or whatever and they have never heard of half the stuff I am talking about. I guess I am not much different with people older than me. Calvin and Hobbes ruled though. And Bloom County. And The Far Side. The authors/artists all hung up those ideas when they ran their course and I am glad. Calvin and Hobbes is still relevant though, timeless in a way that Bloom County was not. Maybe they should reprint that stuff. I could be wrong though. Kids today don't use their imagination like that. That was the crux of the humor in that strip. Spaceman Spiff signing off.

I can't be getting old - I'm only 25 and I still have all my hair !!

I also still friends that only I can see !!

It's sad but with the virtual reality and graphic violence, sex or whatever in the media no one has to use any imagination. I have encouraged my children to read and at least two of three do great! It makes a difference. By the way they like Calvin and Hobbes!

Calvin and Hobbes was great!:)

Far Side was the absolute best IMO:)!!! I had a biology professor in college that would put up a strip before every lecture that pertained to what we were studying. He was always amazed how biologically knowledgable Gary Larson was/is!

I still like Beetle Bailey, no great thinking comic by any means but my dad and I used to read it together when I was small...

Same with Frank and Ernest.

Arrrrgh!

I thought this thread was about Calvin and Hobbes coming back!:) :( :grumpy:

Oh well, fond memories at least...

All classics!!!!

I like Bizarro too.

Prince Valiant has long been one of my all time. long time favorites. I used to scan the pictures for any kind of sword or knife, still do.;)
The ships and different mechanisms has also been long time favorites in the strip as well.

Like Calvin says: "Be careful or be roadkill"

I find something that a remember from my childhood with every book. Especially the one where Calvin photographed his plastic dinosaurs and tried to pass them as genuine.

They make great presents and I have bought and given away more than a few. Trying to spread the laughter around...
