Don't ask me why I still live here in So. Cal.
Maybe something to do with the fact that this is one of the few places other than New Jersey that has a concentration of firms that employ folks that do what I perhaps foolishly studied in college and a while after because I enjoyed it.

Seems there are sh*tloads of the new little hummer cruising around now. I guess the folks that have Jags and Ferraris have added them to their wardrobe of status transport devices.

At night they look just like the redneck pickups festooned with lights that I remember from growing up in the "sticks". I guess every slice of life is yearning to drive somewhere in a mobile codpiece--it's the task of the marketers to find it. It is hilarious to me that a few years ago these same folks woould be appalled to see their neighbors park such a vehicle in their neighborhood where all could see it.

I guess Madison Avenue still rules :barf: :barf:

Happy Turkey Day to all anyway!!!

And we're about to have the grand holy day of Madison Avenue - day after Thanksgiving sales (which I see have expanded to actual day of Thanksgiving sales :()

Still driving my old pickup here, and trying to go further back in time and buy a Pinzgauer.

If I had an extra $70,000 to throw away, I wouldn't mind having one those Hummers. They'd make a pretty nice deer hunting vehicle. :p

Besides if no one bought hummers, the folks that build them would be on the street and no job!

We should all thank God for rich stupid people. :D

I spent my time in So. Cal -- 15 or 20 years of it and that's enough. Wasn't so bad in 1960 but by 1990 I'd had enough.
