I finished this one up Thursday, and I wanted to share it:
Its triple edge quenched O1, fully convexed, 416 stainless guard, desert ironwood burl handle on a full tang, with 11 mosaic pins. The finish in the picture is 800 grit, but right now its a higher, polished satin. 12' overall.
I was inspired to make this by the Bark River Rogue and Bill Bagwell's Hells Belle. I like to think of it as a mesh between the two. It actually fits into the Rogues sheath.
You can see from the picture that the guard needs to be cleaned up more. Fortunately, I dont think that will take more than a few minutes of work. You can also see a little spot between the first two pins that comes out a little farther than the rest of the handle, causing a bend in the reflection along the top. I already fixed that with some sandpaper.
This one got really sharp. Its been tested on pop cans and a whole lot of cardboard and its stayed sharp so far. It holds a great edge thanks to Khukuri_Monster's excellent heat treat.
Thanks for looking.
