I usually pitch stuff that asks to be passed on because all they usually are is a way to build spam lists. This one though, was too good not to share. I know, I know...political stuff. Tough, I get to irritate someone once in a while too! ;) :D

My Fellow Americans:

As you all know, the defeat of Iraq regime has been completed. Since congress does not want to spend any more money on this war, our mission in Iraq is complete. This morning I gave the order for a complete removal of all American forces from Iraq. This action will be complete within 30 days. It is now time to begin the reckoning.

Before me, I have two lists. One list contains the names of countries which have stood by our side during the Iraq conflict. This list is short. The United Kingdom, Spain, Bulgaria, Australia, and Poland are some of the countries listed there. The other list contains everyone not on the first list. Most of the world's nations are on that list. My press secretary will be distributing copies of both lists later this evening.

Let me start by saying that effective immediately, foreign aid to those nations on List 2 ceases immediately and indefinitely. The money saved during the first year alone will pretty much pay for the costs of the Iraqi war. The American people are no longer going to pour money into third world hell-holes and watch those government leaders grow fat on corruption. Need help with a famine? Wrestling with an epidemic? Call France. In the future, together with Congress, I will work to redirect this money toward solving the vexing social problems we still have at home.

On that note, a word to terrorist organizations. Screw with us and we will hunt you down and eliminate you and all your friends from the face of the earth. Thirsting for a gutsy country to terrorize? Try France, or maybe China.

To Israel and the Palestinian Authority. Yo, boys. Work out a peace deal now. Just note that Camp David is closed. Maybe all of you can go to Russia for negotiations. They have some great palaces there. Big tables, too. I am ordering the immediate severing of diplomatic relations with France, Germany, and Russia. Thanks for all your help, comrades. We are retiring from NATO as well. Bon chance, mes amis.

I have instructed the Mayor of New York City to begin towing the many UN diplomatic vehicles located in Manhattan with more than two unpaid parking tickets to sites where those vehicles will be stripped, shredded and crushed. I don't care about whatever treaty pertains to this. You jerks have tens of thousands of unpaid tickets. Pay those tickets tomorrow or watch your precious Benzes, Beamers and limos be turned over to some of the finest chop shops in the world. I love New York City.

A special note to our neighbors. Canada is on List 2. Since we are likely to be seeing a lot more of each other, you folks might want to try not pissing us off for a change. Mexico is also on List 2. President Fox and his entire corrupt government really needs an attitude adjustment. I will have a couple extra tank and infantry divisions sitting around. Guess where I am going to put em? Yep, border security. So start doing something with your oil. Oh, by the way, the United States is abrogating the NAFTA treaty --- starting now. We are tired of the one-way highway. It is time for America to focus on its own welfare and its own citizens!

Some will accuse us of isolationism. I answer them be saying, "darn tootin." Nearly a century of trying to help folks live a decent life around the world has only earned us the undying enmity of just about everyone on the planet. It is time to eliminate hunger in America. It is time to eliminate homelessness in America. It is time to eliminate World Cup Soccer from America.

To the nations on List 1, a final thought. Thanks guys. We owe you and we won't forget.

To the nations on List 2, a final thought. Drop dead!!

God bless America. Thank you and good night.

I'll add another political story. Checked this with snopes and it is a true story. I hope you enjoy.

Ann Margaret
This is a good counter balance story to the Jane Fonda/Vietnam/Woman Of The Year story.

Ann Margaret

Viet Nam 1966

Richard, (my husband), never really talked a lot about his time in Viet Nam other than he had been shot by a sniper. However, he had a rather grainy, 8 x 10 black and white photo he had taken at a USO show of Ann Margaret with Bob Hope in the background that was one of his treasures.

A few years ago, Ann Margaret was doing a book signing at a local bookstore. Richard wanted to see if he could get her to sign the treasured photo so he arrived at the bookstore at 12 o'clock for the 7:30 signing.

When I got there after work, the line went all the way around the bookstore, circled the parking lot and disappeared behind a parking garage. Before her appearance, bookstore employees announced that she would sign only her book and no memorabilia would be permitted.

Richard was disappointed, but wanted to show her the photo and let her know how much those shows meant to lonely GI's so far from home. Ann Margaret came out looking as beautiful as ever and, as second in line, it was soon Richard's turn.

He presented the book for her signature and then took out the photo. When he did, there were many shouts from the employees that she would not sign it. Richard said, "I understand. I just wanted her to see it."

She took one look at the photo, tears welled up in her eyes and she said, "This is one of my gentlemen from! Viet Nam and I most certainly will sign his photo. I know what these men did for their country and I always have time for 'my gentlemen.'"

With that, she pulled Richard across the table and planted a big kiss on him. She then made quite a to-do about the bravery of the young men she met over the years, how much she admired them, and how much she appreciated them There weren't too many dry eyes among those close enough to hear. She then posed for pictures and acted as if he was the only one there.

Later at dinner, Richard was very quiet. When I asked if he'd like to talk about it, my big strong husband broke down in tears. "That's the first time anyone ever thanked me for my time in the Army," he said.

That night was a turning point for him. He walked a little straighter and, for! the first time in years, was proud to have been a Vet. I'll never forget Ann Margaret for her graciousness and how much that small act of kindness meant to my husband.

I now make it a point to say "Thank you" to every person I come across who served in our Armed Forces. Freedom does not come cheap and I am grateful for all those who have served their country.

If you'd like to pass on this story, feel free to do so. Perhaps it will help others to become aware of how important it is to acknowledge the contribution our service people make.

Hey nasty--what do you think of Kerry pulling the Viet Nam card a bunch? Wanted the opinion of a VNV on this.

Uwinv I posted the one you posted a while back. It will be interesting to see the reactions from your posting it.;)

You don't have to be a Republican or Democrat to want to see France put it's money where it's mouth is. (other than the food for oil program)
Too bad we didn't make them pay for Bosnia- but Britian wanted us there, and Britain deserves our support.

I would like nothing better than to see France run Old Europe. Life aint simple, though, and it aint gonna happen.

I think that we spend too much abroad and not enough at home, but I feel that the e mail is overly simplistic. If the world was only that simple. ;)

France, Germany, Turkey et al. They are democracies. We are a democracy.

I think if we really wanted to make a greater political use of our foreign aid that we would cut off any country that is not a democracy. Why do we suck up to China so and let them scab us out of jobs? They are one of the last bastions of Communisim. We lost lives and spent millions to liberate Kuwait but it is in no way a democracy.

If we "punish" democratic countries who do not agree with our foreign policy because their populations do not support it are we really promoting democracy??

I see this trend that really concerns me. It is that we are the leader of the free world and promoter of democracy and self determination when we are trying to get our way. However if another democratic country goes against our wishes then we do not respect their democratic process and try to villify them. I mean it is one thing to disagree with their decision, but I feel like recently we have sunk to demagoguery in a lot of cases, and that this has damaged our credibility that we need for global cooperation.

There is nothing new, Hollow, we have not 'sunk', and I don't give a RRRA what France thinks of us.

Things are interesting right now, from a historical perspective. Can you imagine the kind of tyranny if all nations agreed? You like being different than many folks- you have goats, a country life style but work in the city. You have values that are important to you. Nations are people who are different. It's OK that not everyone likes us.

Wow.

Just for the record, while Canada officially didn't support the war in Iraq, It had the fifth largest presence of troops and materials there.

I'd be relieved if the CANADIAN government would allow Fox News to be shown there.

Not sure how the restriction works, just know the Government helps decide what is broadcast and that Fox News is not in.

Canada has been a historic ally. I don't recall any troops in Iraq but there were some in Afganistan. (where we, unfortunately, straffed them with a jet killing many)

Canadian and American troops often cross-train in each others' military forces. Canadian Troops were/are "imbedded" into the American Forces.

There were also Canadian Destroyers in the Gulf.

As small and as poorly equiped as the military is, (for instance troops still don't have desert camo) A large force was sent to Afganistan to free up American forces allowing them to rotate home and then serve elswhere.

The Canadian Government has strict guidelines that allows what can or cannot be broadcast in Canada. It often seems quite arbritary.

For instance, The Superbowl is broadcast in full (including the half-time show) BUT not the ads.

Fox news isn't carried in Canada... not yet. But likely will be soon.

I'm pleased to tell you that I am able to separate Kerry's service and his actions after separation from many other factors...and that I am glad that I am not a single perspective voter.

Of course...I'd say the same about Bush.

I want to take a Mulligan on this election...reshuffle the deck and give us different choices...I'm tired of always having to pick the lesser of two evils. :barf:

Oops...sorry Edutsi! I just thought it was a great gut reaction. :barf:

Intereesting to me that Fox isn't broadcasted in Canada. Maybe that is a good thing ?

Recently Los Angeles Times Editor John S. Carroll delivered a lecture during "Ethics Week" of the Society of Professional Journalists. He cited a studying that showed that Americans basically had three main misconceptions about Iraq :
1) That Weapons of Mass Destruction have been found
2) That a definite connection has been proven to have existed between al-Qaeda and Iraq ’s Saddam Hussein.
3) That the world is in overwhelming support of our efforts in Iraq.
80% of the people who said that they primarily got their news from FOX believed at least one of those lies.

Gawd! Great minds think a like! I posted this over in W&C a few days ago....

When you have two evils to choose from, you pick the lesser of the two.

Bush is by far less scary than Kerry. (hey that rhymes :D )
:D

I'm not going to get into the LA Timers vs Fox NEws, but they are at odds. I don't believe the 'poll' results either.

It is likely Fox News has answered this charge to the detriment of the LA Times. The Times has been involved in several scandals recently. Showing the charges against Arnold a couple days before the Ca Election one of them.

I know that most liberals believe Fox is watched by the "Right"- I've read the demographics on the O Reilly hour, for instance, do not support that belief.

I like Fox News because they saw a need and answered it. CNN used to be called the Clinton News Network for a reason. MSNBC has swung to the "Right" ever so slightly because of the economic impact of Fox.

At any rate, the real question is should a Government choose the media outlets for it's citizens, not how good or bad Fox News is. That's a red herring. No govenment should be making these decisions. If Canadians are happy with Canadian public broadcast, (our PBS) and other liberal outlets, then the growing division between us and they is easily understood.

BTW- Americans do not believe those myths about 9-11
Recent ABC and FoX news polls have shown that. There was a time when a majority of Americans believed Iraq was linked to 9-11, but when that was true, viewer from all networks would have shown the same bias.
The source for Richard Allen's link was the Daily Emerald, whatever the hell that is.
If I wanted to enlarge my penis, the link is a good one, having prominant ads devoted to same.
