I truly cannot believe how $$@#%%^&$# bad this company operates....
Let me just start by saying I have run into one or two shipping problems in the past, but these guys are unbelieveable.
Here's what happened:
I placed an order through Dell for a couple inkjet cartridges last Sunday and had them shipped next day delivery. The tracking info thru Dell stated Airborne Express was the carrier and would be on my doorstep 2/9...(next business day by 12pm GUARANTEED!)
My 6yr old brought home the virus from hell which I contracted, so needless to say was home Mon - Thurs (9th-12th). My package didn't arrive Monday, or Tues afternoon so I decided to give DHL a call.
Their response was they attempted to deliver but noone was home.
Ha, I laughed, I was home ALL day yesterday and ALL day today...WTF!
DHL stated they'd deliver Thursday, because thats when they are in the area. I reiterated that this WAS next-day delivery which was guaranted by next day 12:00pm by DHL policy. The rep stated there's probably snow on your road & if you have inclimate weather, all bets are off and there was nothing they could do for me, you need to contact Dell if you want to complain about the next day service, your not the one shipping the parcel.
This just about sent me through the roof! There was no %^$## snow!
I waited, Thurs came and went...still no Next Day Delivery package
I called DHL again and was thinking of what BS story I was going to get this time...
The representative put me in touch w/ the local office and I asked to speak w/ the the manager. After patiently listening to his excuses of DHL using only passenger-style vans for delivery and If the driver feels he's going to be stuck and have to call a tow truck...WAIT! I proceeded to tell him that Yes, we do live in the country and Yes we do have hills, but the town keeps our roads immaculate. Not everyone has 4 wheel drive, my daughters school bus picks her up at our house, and UPS has no problems delivering packages. His response: UPS and the schools are better equipped with vehicles for going thru snow.
#@^@#%#^!!!! Your not listening to me! I stated, there is no %#$#@*% snow, and it's news to me that DHL is a seasonal operating company!
His response was that the package was there (45min-1hr drive) and he didn't know what to tell me. I insisted that package delivery was DHL's responsibility, not mine and refused to pick this up myself, especially since the tracking info was BS...

8 : 04 am Arrived DHL facility.
2 : 02 am Processed at Sort Facility.
2/8/04 6 : 56 pm Picked Up by DHL. Shipper's Door
I was home for 4 days! Furthermore, this was supposed to be next day delivery, the tracking info stated an attempt was made on the 11th, which was a lie (DHL told me the day prior they are not in the area on Wed's and the 'truck' left the dock that morning at 9am)... His response: I don't know, I'll make sure we deliver it out tomorrow for you and I'll personally call if there are ANY problems. What a crock that was. :barf:
No calls, No truck, No package....
Thursday and Friday came and went, Saturday also...
I called DHL last night and the rep stated this has been attempted to be delivered and is now getting shipped back to Dell, "per Dells request". I called Dell today and they stated this would not be requested back by Dell and will ship another set out for me.
I calmly asked who would be the carrier? Why DHL...they'll deliver it to you...
Ohhh Man...! after an hour on the phone with Dell, they are shipping the cartridges for free via UPS...
The moral of this story is you have a real inconsiderate and INCOMPETANT company making loads of money and who suffers? Dell and the consumer! Whats this world coming to?
Thank God Uncle Bill decided to ditch these Aholes...I don't know what I'd do going through this while expecting a UBBB khuk.
