I received and email from Microsoft titled use the patch immediately. Did anyone else get that? I'm afraid to open it and I checked the Microsoft updates for my computer and it said everything was in line. So should I even open the thing?? Anyone got an opinion? Does Microsoft send out stuff like that?

Thanks guys.

Usually it's a virus/trojan ("spam" as in advertising would make nosense anyway). Don't open it (or any other attachments sent by peopleyou don't know and even those sent by peoplethat you do know that are unexpected).

Thanks!! That's what I thought, but you never know.
Gin I got one of those a while back. I deleted it, then went to my deleted file and deleted it again. POOF! Gone from my computer 'till the next time.:grumpy:

However Microsoft does have a Beta Page. I went there the other day and downloaded their new spyware program. It's pretty cool.

Thank you, Yuh nSuh...

That MSN Beta deal is neat, and took out 29 spys.

I'd had to reload XP last weekend after a Spyblock program fragmented and left one instruction. I called Dell and truly, I could not understand the heavily-accented English of the service person (after 20 minutes of waiting on the phone,) and then called the local server and got some very helpful suggestions.

I'd tried uninstall of the spyblock program, but the fragment left was blocking access to the "C" drive.

Took all of last Saturday afternoon, but the reloading of XP didn't take out my files nor my favorites on Explorer. It DID wipe out all the favorites in Netscape.

Thank you, Sir.

Be well and safe.

I didn't get an email from Microsoft, but Mr Gates did call and ask me how the programs were working, and wanted to let me know if any of them had any bugs just to call him and he'd fix it for me.

My last experience with Dell Tech support had me on the line with India and a nice guy who fiddled around for an hour...no answer.....then the Philippines...no answer...another hour and i could not understand the girl......and then on to Panama...a good English speaker with no real knowledge of the problem. Between foreign outsourcing and poor training, I am amazed that Dell is able to keep hold of their position in computer sales.

As to the e-mail.....100% bogus....do not open!!

You're welcome my friend. I'm glad too help in my small way.:)

When I downloaded it there were several spywares on my system as well, forgot the exact amount.
And that is with about four spyware programs I have that run regularly!:grumpy:
I like that the new program runs once a day, I don't like that it has to close down IE to finish.:(
