My 13 year old wants a four wheeler, but they are too expensive and we don't really have a place to ride them. Thing is, if I bought one, I'd probably have to buy two because I'd have to ride with him.

A lot of kids have these little electic scooter things that they go around on. Its not a replacement obviously, but he'd like one anyway. Anybody know anything about them?

Thanks.

When i was younger i used to ride a GOPED.

It was bloody fun. Everyone got on it. My dad, my uncles, aunties, cousins...etc.

It's actually really fun just going around the place. My uncle was in the army then and we went around the army base on it. Superb. Wish i could buy it now. But i think there are laws against it on the road or something like that.

Just remember - you get what you pay for. If you are going to get one get at least a 750 watt motor. With a 750 you can go up some mild hills. Hope this helps. Scott

If you're looking for real utility, how about a Powabyke?

"Powabyke's are cheap to run, only costing about 1.5 pence per mile (20 miles for 30pence) and they are fun to ride. With a range* of 20 miles per charge; at approx 15mph, you won't even need a licence** to ride it, and parking is free!

People who never thought they would ride again are riding to work, school, college, the library, local shops and even to the local pub!

The uses for the Powabyke are endless and all without the strain of pedaling."

Make sure you get one with a basket so you can put the groceries or the picnic bag.
