Today I lost half of my dual exhaust on my way to work. You ever hear an old VW with two unmuffled cylinders? Jeeze louise! Sounds like a hog with straight pipes. So I had to take an early lunch break and spend $150 I really didn't need to spend to get a new exhaust. So much for fun money. :( Thanks for letting me vent.

It's a conspiracy I tell ya! I think I should have gone into automotive repair.

Isn't exhuast for an old VW just some tin cans and duct tape anyways? Fix it yourself. ;)

JK of course, and totally understand your frustration.

In 1999 I had my Ramcharger 4x4 rebuilt. I drove it to Idaho to people I could trust. It cost over 7000 dollars. Engine hand built, transfer case, front end, transmission etc etc.

It should have lasted a lifetime. At 40,000 miles it seized. It sits in my yard today- my entry into being a local- the badge of a dead vehicle parked on a lot.
If I knew how to rebuild I'd do it myself.

We spent $700.00 that we didn't have on both our car and truck this month. Can't bitch though as both have served us well with only general maintinance being done. The repairs fall under that classification as they were due to sensors going bad, but I still don't have to like it.
The money was slated for other things that are going to have to be put off now.(We need a disgusted smilie.)
Probably means I'll have to sign up for PayPal to pay Uncle Bill for the Foxy Follys, something I wanted to pay cash for as always.:grumpy:

We just had to cough up ~$2200  for transmission replacement. Got the car back yesterday after having it sit in the lot for 3 weeks. We had to borrow the money from my inlaws (I hate borrowing money). That one is cutting into the knife fund for a long while.

Back when the world was young, I backed up too close on the side and wiped the passenger side mirror off my 1964 VW. Cost about $6.00 to replace.

A couple weeks ago my wife backed up to close on the side and wiped the passenger side mirror off her 2002 VW. Cost about $400.00 to replace.

If you want your feelings hurt drop a bike
Had a friend that was backing a goldwing and just slipped
470.00 stupid feeling dollars later he had it back right
(no excuse is good enough to save face when they ask)

greasy feet i guess

ouch, i bet mackasenbach. that's why I ordered engine guards day I got bike. :) and have saddlebags to help protect back.

Course, still hoping I jut sdon't drop it(knock on wood :) )

spent $200 on exhaust day before yesterday.....but for a somewhat different reason.

I spent nearly the entire day Saturday tearing out the old exhaust in the Nova and putting in new headers.

Kids love it.....jury is still out in Mama's case.......
