OT: Good guys 1 ----bad guys 0

Should've been warning shots to the back of the head. That would've warned anymore potential burglars they may get kilt ifen they be messin aroun whar they oughten to be.:D

They can later sue the homeowner for assault because he pointed a weapon at them.

and if you kill them, even if its justified. The family will take you to court and claim that you deprived the deceased of his ability to earn income :barf: :barf:

It has happened before.....

Sometimes you just have to take a stand. I have personally put me and mine in real and serious danger a couple of times by not backing down. I'll do it again if necessary.
One of my sayings for other folks asking for help is, "What are you willing to give up to get what you want?"
I live by that myself. A man can have peace and a man can have freedom but it's not likely that a man is going to have both of them together at the same time.:(

I've always worried about that. (big surprise- me worry?) Guy or guys break into your home. They're cranked or something, and you hold them at bay with a sidearm. You say, wait until the police come. Then they turn their backs and walk out of the house.

Now, if I shoot them in the back- I'm going to jail for murder. I can't hold them legally, because that's imprisonment or something.

In fact, if one of them grabbed a tv on his way out, what could I do legally?

Do you know what a system like this produces? A judicial system so ignorant and caught up in it's quest for 'absolute rights' that it has tied the hands of honest folks? For one thing, the people get a little crazy. I'm not kidding- that's a classic 'schizophrenigenic ' cue; a mixed message. Like telling someone you love them and then kicking them in the shins as hard as you can. People can't act or think rationally with this type of society and legal system.

And the second thing, of course, is that it promotes the idea that it would be better for you to simply kill the men as they stand in your home facing you.

That is the end product of bad law.

Every once in awhile I say something that is horrifying in its truthfulness and this is one of them.

Hell, I'm not a law enforcement officer. I have no duty to hold anybody, and don't plan on it.

If someone is in my domicile illegally, they can leave or they can take lead until they're nonthreatening.
