Subject: Something to think about.

Subject: A couple of tough questions

Question 1:

If you knew a woman who was pregnant, who had 8 kids already, three whom were deaf, two who were blind, one mentally retarded, and she had syphilis, would you recommend that she have an abortion?

Read the next question before looking at the answer for this one.

Question 2:

It is time to elect a new world leader, and only your vote counts. Here are the facts about the three leading candidates.

Candidate A -

Associates with crooked politicians, and consults with astrologists. He's had two mistresses. He also chain smokes and drinks 8 to 10 martinis a day.

Candidate B -

He was kicked out of office twice, sleeps until noon, used opium in college and drinks a quart of whiskey every evening.

Candidate C -

He is a decorated war hero. He's a vegetarian, doesn't smoke, drinks an occasional beer and never cheated on his wife.

Which of these candidates would be your choice? Decide first, no peeking, then scroll down for the answer.

Candidate A is Franklin D. Roosevelt.

Candidate B is Winston Churchill.

Candidate C is Adolph Hitler.

And, by the way, the answer to the abortion question: If you said yes, you just killed Beethoven.

Pretty interesting isn't it? Makes a person think before judging someone.

Never be afraid to try something new. Remember: Amateurs built the ark. Professionals built the Titanic.

Can you imagine working for a company that has a little more than 500 employees and has the following statistics:

29 have been accused of spousal abuse

7 have been arrested for fraud

19 have been accused of writing bad checks

117 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least
2 businesses

3 have done time for assault

71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit

14 have been arrested on drug-related charges

8 have been arrested for shoplifting

21 are currently defendants in lawsuits

84 have been arrested for drunk driving in the last year

Can you guess which organization this is?

Give up yet?

It's the 535 members of the United States Congress. The same group of idiots that crank out hundreds of new laws each year designed to keep the rest of us in line.

With politicians you have to vote for the best of whatever choices are on the ballot. So it becomes sort of what the leader says and if they keep their promises. They probably aren't going to come to my house for dinner.

One can be a little more picky about choosing friends. I can look at what a person says and does as well as how they live their lives. I think not having any lying, cheating drug dealing friends cuts down on how many stray bullets come through the windows at night.

If it weren't for his radical racial/ethnic beliefs, and general mental instability, Hitler would probably be regarded as one of the greatest political leaders of modern times.

Of course the same could be said for Abraham Lincoln - or Richard Nixon.

You have to give Hitler credit - he was able to lead people to accomplish quite a bit. Unfortunately, most of it was pretty repugnant. :barf:

Actually, Hitler never married Eva Braun. They never had kids either (only for the best). He was also kind to his German Shepherds.

However, if anyone deserved a bad end it was Hitler.

That's kind of ironic. During their training, his elite SS guard were each given a dog. At the end of their training they were required to shoot thier dogs. Bastards. All of them.

Actually, Hitler never married Eva Braun.

He did - an hour or so before the coward shot himself and gave her poison. He did not have too much time to cheat on his wife... - and to qualify him as a decorated war hero is not right. He had an iron cross - mainly because he survived a gas-attack and was blind a couple of weeks. That is not a very important decoration.

If not ... is not a category - but right, if Hitler would have died in 1938 (before the war, before the Holocaust) he probably would be referred to as one of the "greatest " Germans - similar to Napoleon in France. He, an Austrian, gave the German self-confidence of the very wrong kind - they would not have discovered this.
There are very few politicians (and no dictators) of whom I would say they were good and wise - non of them is very known (or do you know Tomas Garrigue Masaryk - Czech-president 1918-35?
Personal and political integrity do not seem to match too often.
