OT hardware question...

not really knife related, but i'm hoping someone out there might have run across a source for these in his/her travels through tool land...

i'm looking for some hardware: short screw type things, maybe 1/4" in diamater, but with really wide heads...best if they're not even screws, but threaded rods with fat knurled ends that you can turn by hand...

if you do any woodworking and you've seen some of the high end wood planes, or even some of the cheaper japanese wood planes, what i mean is something like those fat screws used to tighten up the lever cap or wedge onto the blade...

i'm thinking maybe 1/4" diameter threads with a head about 1/2" wide would be perfect...maybe you guys know of some source for hardware like that? i haven't been able to find anything in my catalogs of jig fixtures and hardware and such....

thanks in advance...

www.mcmaster.com or www.mscdirect.com or www.reidtool.com Reid Tool has just about any kind of handle you could want, they also have tons of clamping stuff for jigs and fixtures. The Reid web page isn't quite as easy to use as McMaster-Carr but the print catalog is a lot easier to get your hands on and is a great reference.
