Hey Fellas, just finished a home project that I think You might enjoy. I have been a hobby maker for a little while and just finished this one. I don't make any knives for anyone but myself and family, so please don't take this as me trying to illicit buisness. Please don't ask. It's a 5.5" blade, 5/32 O-1, cocobolo handles, red liners, convex scandi grind. Any comments are much appriciated, I try to pick up tips where ever I can. Any thoughts, Ethan?

Thanks for lookin!!

It's a home made blade. I started with flat stock 1.5" wide, 5/32" thick, and 12" long. I drew out the design on the metal and then cut it out with an angle grinder. I use a Delta 1x42" vertical belt grinder for the stock removal and sharpening. I built a small forge and use char coal to heat treat the O-1. I take it to nonmagnetic and quench it in vegetable oil. I then do a triple temper at two hours each. The RC should be 58-59. For O-1 that seems to work very well. After it's tempered I clean it up and put the handle on it. She feels very nimble in the hand. The balance is right on the guard, just in front of the first finger. I think she will serve well. Not the tank my BK2 is, but I made it and it feels surprisingly good to use a blade you made with your own hands. :D
