Spent all day today (8AM 'til 1030PM) training troopies. Yeah, I know it's supposed to be Saturday, but my schedule's way worse tomorrow. Dadgum but I love it!:D Teaching folks to navigate cross country in tactical vehicles, fording creeks and such, training in chemical gear, and convoying through pitch black woods with night vision goggles. I'm dog tired, but I'm still so pumped up it doesn't matter. As a non-com it makes me sleep better at night knowing we're doing everything possible to make sure our young folks will know what to do when it comes time to get the job done. This "war on terrorism" ain't over 'til the fat lady sings, and last I heard she's on a diet.;)

They may not say much right now. But, when the stuff hits the fan, all those you tought will remember the guy that showed them how to do the job and come home again.
Sure gives you a good feeling to know that you did the best you could and probably, through all your efforts, saved some lives in action yet to come.:)

Sarge, I'm living, like, half of the world away from USA, but I'm feeling much more safer when I know there are people like you out there, doing their best to make the world a better place. Keep doing your great job!

You said, "teaching" and gave yourself away, Sarge. That's one of your hats, isn't it?

Pappy has a habit of doing that. He "ah shucks" his way right to the heart of the matter, and brings out what is most important.

I'm lucky to be able to talk to him on HI, but I sure wish he and others here were my neighbors.
