OT: Indian palace sword

Another for you sword fans. A stylised palace guard's sword. Besides being unique unto itself it has the very rare scabbard.

There is a discussion on Swordforums regarding Indian swords especially tulwars with serrations. Some of the forumites there concluded that some of these tulwars could've been used as executions. Have you found anything in your research to indicate this?

I thought of those do-hickys they stab olives with to serve in drinks.

With serrations like that, I can see why extant scabbards are scarce.
 
I have been told this was as much for show & intimidation as anything else. I have never heard of this being described as an execution weapon. They had the "tegha" for that.
