" I, Gregory Michael Sikes, do solemnly swear, to uphold the constitution of the United States of America, and to defend it against all enemies, foreign or domestic..............."

I first swore that oath many years ago as a skinny, young, kid. Today I swore it again. Much older, much wiser, if you think you can bullsh&# me you better think again. I swore it because I still love what I do, and I love the people I'm lucky enough to do it with. I swore it because I still consider service to this great country to be an honor and a privilege. Someday will find me a man of peaceful pursuit, but not today. Today, as in days before, the sun and moon, as they mark their path, look down upon a warrior. I toast now to victories past and future, and in remembrance of those who've gone before.

Having taken that oath a few times myself, I know what you mean. Make sure that when you stop taking it that you are really ready. I don't miss some of the BS, but I miss my M16 something fierce.

My thanks, Sarge.

(You'll notice that I carefully did NOT use the word 'Sir' once in this note. Other than in this disclaimer.)

hahah Aardvark. :) I learned same lesson from a friend I used to work with.

And thank you Sarge.

truck, I'm with the 513th MI BDE at Ft. Gordon, GA. I'm relatively new to the place, but I'm starting to get the hang of it, as well as I have anywhere at least.

I am guessing that MI is for Mechanized Infantry? If so, I'm glad to hear that there's another Grunt in the house. I used to hang around with that funky little bunch over at Camp Lejeune. Do you know what Sarge does offhand?

Let me chime in with my Thanks as well Sarge. You're very much appreciated!!!!
I've been reading along for awhile about a lot of our senior sevice members leaving the military and how much of a hardship it was putting on different services within the service. Don't know if that's still true or not, but if it is, your service is infinitely appreciated!!!!:D
