OT Khukuri carrier?

Me too. I wanted a Volvo P1800S back when they were made in the '60's.:D
Not a super fast car, but it was a performing little sucker!!!!:D

Yuh nsuh?

My dream back then was the 1800 ES !!! Still one of the sexiest designs around. Think that they had rear suspension issues or something. But, in that I never came close to having one, that didn't bother me much. Dreams allow for a certain lattitude in practical problems.:)

The old man had a new one in '65 when he came up from Florida to Oklahoma.
I got to drive it a few times, a couple when he wasn't with me.;) Don't know about any suspension problems but I do know you could turn a 90* corner at 40 mph.:D  :D
I still love the little beasts but would probably kill myself in one now days.
The old man hit a steer from an overturned cattle truck in his and it damned near killed him. If it hadn't of been a Volvo he would probably of bought the farm that day.
The steer came right up over the hood and took the roof all the way back. It looked as if someone had cut the front pillars, got ahold of the front top and yanked it back.
The turn indicator lever went through his neck and his head was inside the steering wheel.
Strange how things happen like that. They figured the old man was doing about 85 when he hit the steer. It was a foggy morning and the old man was damned sure old enough to know better than to be driving like that.
Sure screwed up a beautiful automobile.:(
As far as the old man went I figured that some karma had finally caught up with him.:D

I had a '73/74 1800ES, dark green, tan interior...not only gorgeous but handled very well and certainly had some guts. It was the only new car I ever bought.

Wish I still had it since it would have been a very good kukri carrier. And ideal for koras too!

I wrecked my father's 58 banana yellow Bathtub Porsche, if that helps.

Whatever that little 60's Volvo was with the bubble roof and the fins so it looked almost like a Jetsons car... they're sweet :)

Aardvark you're right about no anti-tank gun, but I can't see anything wrong with welding a few AK's to the hubcaps as a public service.

Ok Guys...now think it through.

You are in the Swedish army.

They give you a Volvo.

They say: "Oh, by the way...you are supposed to fight TANKS with this." You have never seen a tank in Sweden.

They put the anti-tank gun on your four-cylinder Volvo.

You look around for the armour, shielding you from the tank fire. All you see is a make-up mirror, a motorcycle windshield and an optimistic speedometer.

You drive out of sight of the base.

You toss the anti-tank gun off the VOLVO as fast as you can so as not to aggravate any tanks you might encounter. Whatever a "tank" is.

You stash the Volvo for 40 years, then sell it on eBay.

Feasible?

So, uh, Kis, exactly WHY were you asked to leave the Swedish army?

Kis and I were kicked out for entering our Tank Assault vehicle into a P1800S Road Rally, and Winning!!!! :p :D ;)

Kis, I think that speed-o-meter is in KPH instead of MPH.;) Feasible?:D

I was developing my "Swedish Chef" routine for Jim Henson, and someone took offense. That, and they wanted to know where the jeep was.

And the Rally thing with Yvsa? We creamed them ! They had to drive ON-road.
