The Mrs. talked to the Vet this morning. No feline diseases and NO BROKEN BONES. We get to pick him up this afternoon. She wants to call him Timmorn (from the Elfquest comics). $500 in two days. YIKES!

Ten years from now you'll have a boatload of memories and funny stories about your new feline friend. You'll forget the vet bills in six months. Glad to hear he's doing OK, have fun with the little rascal.

Great news. May he prosper. And shred your drapes. (sorry, ancient Chinese blessing. May have gotten it wrong).

$500? Man. Having two cats I know that it is expensive to take them to the vet. When they pull out that I.V. you are in for a big bill. All of that being said it is more then worth it to me. Big points on the karma scale in my opinion for what you did. Good luck and enjoy the new family memeber.

Great news! Have you considered getting pet medical insurance? My cat is up to $2500+ over the years, and now she needs an operation to have bladder stones removed. If I'd known about pet insurance when she was younger, I would have jumped on it. I scoff at people who spend hundreds of dollars to purchase a purebred cat; my wife and I have spent thousands on an alley cat:rolleyes:

Cool, I'm glad your kitten made it threw then night.

Years ago my two beloved brother cats were found to have diabetes. Almost lost one to a misdiagnoses. Insulin and shots twice a day for 9 years. You cannot even begin to guess what that original bill was...worth every penny and I miss those 2 guys every day.

Glad to hear he/she? is ok two of our 3 cats are foundlings one was picked up along the highway in a rain storm , my wife saw him and stopped he was barely moving and she thought he was a gonner and didnt want him to die alone.. but 3 yrs later hes 14 lbs of affection
and I swear if he had thumbs and could talk he'd ask for the car keys..:)

He looks none the worse for wear. A little freaked out maybe but all things considered I'd say he looks pretty good. I haven't had a chance to hold him yet but I'll let him come to me. He's had enough trauma without me sticking my bald head in his face. Thanks for the good wishes, guys. I hear ya, Kis.

I kept my fingers crossed - glad he made it! 1 down; 8 more lives to go!;) I'm sure with you & the Mrs. watchin' over him, he won't have any worries. Good to hear of a good story once in awhile!:D

A heartwarming story, and I'm not even slightly kidding. You did a good thing. May whomever is up there and keeping track give you appropriate meritorious credit for it.

one of the good guys wins one once in a while.

The wife and I have nursed a few wild bird and critters. We feed the hummers in the summer and the rest of the birds all winter long. We will probably continueas long as we can get around good. Many of my neighbors don't like me very well during dove season though. The most doves I saw in the back yard at one time I lost count at 46. They knew they were safe here.:) :)

You may have a special visitor come duck season, Pappy. At least you won't have to worry about fertilizing your lawn with Quackipuss around. Shovel your sidewalk to the front door daily, maybe, he, he, he!!! :D :D :D

When I lived at the foot of Geiger Grade, a covey of quail would come through every morning about the time I had my cup of coffee. Loved watching them. That's a good way to start your day off. I put out seed, and it disappeared , then I put out seed pressed into a bell shape and found out why it went so quick. Turned out a squirrel was filling his cheeks near to busting 'em.

One thing I didn't know at the time was that there were some seeds in the bird mix that can get you into trouble if they spout and grow into "weed".

Definitely good news, and I will say from start I'm not a cat person, but once in a while a kitten hits me just right(though I still leave ownership and those messes up to the friends who have the cats I like. :)

When we moved into our house it had been set vacant for a year prior and it had gotten over run with mice and field rats.

This stray cat showed up, wild as the day was long, and pretty hungry too.

So, we started to feed her. Then she had kittens. Then the kittens had kittens. Then those kittens had kittens.

They're not cats, I eventually discovered, they are mutant Tribbles right out of Star Trek. If you feed them they multiply like furry bacteria.

However, I haven't seen a rodent around here for a long time, including the gophers. Birds are kind of scarce too.

Good on you, well done, bravo...etc. Look at the money as an investment that will pay emotional dividends for years to come.

"In Egypt male cats were called Mau and females Mait. Cats knew the words to vanquish the powers of darkness and would
whisper them to people who loved and befriended them"

dont think you'll have anything to worry about:D
ditto on pics

My last cat I had for 15 years which had acute kidney disease, not a good time... but she let me know when it was time to go and of to the doctor we went...The house was to quiet so we snatch up 2 sisters from the local SPCA..the new kids
